Law and Order: Internal Affairs

L&O is on its last legs now, I think NBC are trying their damnedest to keep the various shows on the air and swapping out cops almost annually to keep it fresh. Another spin-off will make it jump the shark in a big way.

so youve heard of L&O: LA then?

CI and SVU have been bad for a few seasons but I think the original is better than it's been in over a decade.

I wouldn't see this happening, I mean, sure some of the cops in these shows have been (unswervingly so) targeted by the IAB, but on TV or movies the IA are always these ultra pricks who care more about the fact that they may get to take someone down then...well, whatever else. Not to mention, the way Law and Order does things, as someone else said, there'd have to be about 18-22 (allowing for multi parters) cases of busting a cop (or Cops) and as someone else said, that would get old. I mean, this would be a different level then a typical cop show, you can do a new crime each episode and get away with it, busting a cop each week? Seriously, that would bring the question "Jesus Christ, don't they screen these people at all before hiring them?

I seem to recall the show The District having recurring characters that were IAB, and they were none to popular if memory serves.

and L&O outside of NY? Wow. That's like...Star Trek, about the Klingon Empire, or the Romulans, in short, no Starfleet. Just seems...odd,

NYPD Blue had a recurring IAB character who was a thorn in Sipowicz's side but eventually became allies.

Couldn't agree more! The original is still the best. Just watch Linus Roache in action; you'll swear he was born in the states, but he's from Manchester, England! :)

^ Roache is an example of a British actor who does a GOOD American accent.

Saffron Burrows from CI, on the other hand...why does she even bother?

I'm amazed at Hugh Laurie does with House, listening to him in his real accent sounds nothing like House. But yeah Roache is a great actor. But the overall chemistry on L&O right now it amazing.

Yes, and I still believe that will sound the death knell for L&O, but I'll watch it to see if it even has a chance. At least it's not on FOX.

at least they are going to try something new this time, setting it in a new city.

Also with the 3 L&Os all set in New York, there may not be enough crime for a 4th.
