Latest Starship Intrepid story "Echoes" released on YouTube

Yes. Hope people enjoy it.

Amazing story, nice split between the ship and the characters on planet, great effects. But as always, the characters are what matter. I could see a follow up to this one.

Thank you, truly. :)

As much as I love plot-driven stories, I do have a bit of preference to character-driven ones. I would like to do a follow-up, we’ll see what happens. :)

I enjoyed the story. Nicely done! Sidearm control could be improved but I am weird about things like that. ;)
Thanks, really happy you enjoyed it. I agree about the sidearm handling, unfortunately I only picked up on that when I was editing. Will definitely try to do better in the future.

^ A minor gripe and there are professional productions that have way too many firearm gaffes with paid advisors on set. My rules of thumb: finger off the trigger, don't point it at your partner's face or your own, and don't jab it into your adversary's body.

Seriously though I look forward to your next installment. Intrepid is always a favorite. :)

I once directed a music video on the subject of gun violence and made sure to teach the singers how to handle the "deactivated firearms" (real guns modified to be unfireable) in the way you do live weapons. None of them had ever handled a real gun, but I went target shooting with friends when I was younger.

Thank you. And I agree, it’s definitely an issue in a lot of productions. One of the issues I often have, especially when I’m in front of the camera, is I’m often juggling too many balls, and stuff gets missed. Trigger discipline is something that, once you know, it is annoying. And believe me, in editing this I saw it a lot and it bugged me. :)

Talking of mistakes, there is actually an editing mistake with the insertion of an FX shot that I’d completely missed that was pointed out to me the other day. There’s always something. :)

Agreed. This is why I prefer not to wear too many hats on a shoot, because you get distracted with A and miss the obvious B you'd otherwise catch. Last shoot I did with @USS Intrepid, we had a very small crew, and I was sleep-deprived and starting to lose track of things.

I really enjoy the character of Sofia Karras. I hope she can return in a future adventure!
Thanks for watching, and glad you liked her. Amira is a genuinely lovely person, and she brought a real quality to Karras. I’d like to bring her back, and Amira has expressed interest in appearing, but she’s also incredibly busy and no longer living locally to us. But if we can come up with the right story, and make the schedules work, I’d love to do it.
