Latest gas prices where you are thread

I'm not sure on this (I'll actually need a coast person to give a definate answer), but I think the coasts pay higher taxes on their gas than other places do.

I can't speak for other states, but California has high state and environmental taxes on its gas. I believe (but am not sure) that California also requires certain additives to make the fuel burn cleaner, and that impacts the price as well.

That and most Californians live in high density urban and suburban areas. Those areas are just more expensive for EVERYTHING.

GasBuddy.com shows: $2.02 as the lowest reported price in my city.

Thanksgiving is almost here, so I am surprised it hasn't started going up yet. I said twice I doubt it would drop below $2.00, but unless it starts climbing in the next few days, it will. Surprising.

I heard reports of it being $1.89 a gallon about 30 miles away from here, but just yesterday, its slipped from $2.01 all the way to $1.95 locally.

Just saw it for $2.17.

I heard in a interview that T. Boone Pickens believes the price will be back to $100 a barrel by the same time next year. I definately have to agree with that, OPEC will cut its production to shit to accomplish it if neccessary.

I haven't been out on the town in a few days, but according to Tharp's website, there are a couple places that are as low as $1.95 today. This is exciting considering that just three days ago, the lowest available was $2.18. I may have to go run a few errands tomorrow and confirm these prices.

Don't most cars actually filter OUT those additives? (assuming that they are impurities that need to be removed)

$1.85 here in Omaha now! :techman:

I have no idea. But regardless, it makes the politicians sitting in Sacramento feel better about themselves.

Yesterday, I filled up with my usual 98RON at 99.9 pence per litre (regular was down to 92.9). First time I've been able to fill up at under a pound per litre since last year.
