latest DVD purchases

Well, my January purchases have been the following:

The Protector
Seven Swords
The Promise
Jet Li's Fearless
Crank

Never watched X-Files first run; often I wait until something is good and proven, and I can watch it every day in a row.

I don't like waiting for stuff to be doled out once a week. For example, we've got the current-season collected eps of Lost in the TiVo, waiting till we got em all for the season to watch.

Anyway, so we're up to Season Four box set of X-Files now.

On a complete whim:

Seasons 1-3 of Spooks (AKA MI:5) - loving it alot for a blind buy!

Harry Pearce is a hoot!

Hugo - We're in a state of collective desperation here.

Beginning of the month I bought Firefly: The Complete Series. Today I picked up The Hills Have Eyes (2006 remake; Unrated).

I ended up getting the animated "Incredible Iron Man" movie because it was cheap (under $10 Cdn). Even if I don't like I can still get a few bucks trading it in later.

After giving away my DVD copy of Better Luck Tomorrow to a friend, I bought another copy of it on DVD for another friend, and also bought one more DVD for myself.

 Asian American pride, baby!!

I also added Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? to my DVD collection. Starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. It was either between purchasing that and Safe House starring Patrick Stewart. I endedup going with Virginia Woolf. Even Patrick Stewart -- a close friend of my favorite theatre professor from the UCLA ACTER program -- himself would agree that I made the wiser choice. :)

Febuary's Haul:

Basilisk Vol. 5: The Shades of Night
Ellcia
Fate/Stay Night Vol. 2: War of the Magi
(GTO)Great Teacher Onizuka: The Movie (live action adaptation)
Patlabor: The Original OVA Collection
Patlabor: The New Files Collection
Origin: Spirits of the Past
Zeiram Special Edition

I went a bit overboard this month. My Life On Mars first series is on it's way from the UK, and my Doctor Who second series should be here tomorrow. Yay!

I've just gone on my biggest DVD-buying tear in a while. In the space of the last two weeks, I've picked up:

The Departed (2-disc edition)
JFK (2-disc Director's Cut)
The Prestige
Firefly: The Complete Series
Serenity

The latter two were both ordered online.

I'll buy Casino Royale when it comes out, but then I'm done for a while. This was almost too big of a splurge for me this month.
