Latest acquisition!

Been on a bit of a Deep Space Nine kick lately. So I picked up the Companion for $27 from Half-Price Books via Amazon and got A Stitch in Time for my Kindle.

3D printing and Trek stuff

An exciting week for Star Trek-related deliveries! Galaxy Bookshop in Sydney had the 2020 calendar already in stock (calendars seem to arrive earlier every year).

An eBay purchase of a "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" set of music scores arrived yesterday. And the postman just brought a box of very cool 3D-printing by a friend in the USA: an orange head and hands for my 8" custom Lieutenant Arex and all the pieces needed to build a travel pod for my 3.75" action figures.

Not pictured: IDW's "Star Trek: The Q Conflict" #4.

Got the DS9 relaunch omnibus Twist of Faith for my Kindle. $16 is kinda steep for close to twenty year old novels, but it is what it is.

I just checked and the individual Kindle books are all $8.99 each, so that's less than half of what you'd pay if you go them all individually. Admittedly, you could probably get the paperback dirt cheap, but that's besides the point.

I know. I fully expect them to be $0.99 cents each at the beginning of June now that I bought the omnibus. :guffaw:

Sounds like you have my luck. I've been hesitant to buy the e-books of some of the older Trek novels I've looked because I always as soon as I do they'll go on sale.

I just got a great haul from a local used book store here in the Ottawa area. Re-Read Books in Stittsville Ontario. I was able to get the TOS Section 31 book, Cloak, by S.D. Perry; the gorgeous hardcover collection of Juan Ortiz's movie-style poster artwork for each episode of TOS; as well as volumes 4 to 10 of Strange New Worlds. The crazy thing about finding it all wasn't the fact that it was all in near mint condition, but that everything was so cheap. About $80 for everything. The hardcover, which retails for $45 Canadian, was only $8. The Strange New Worlds books were only $6 each. I was pretty happy to find it all for such a great price :techman:

I got The Captain's Oath and the other used books I ordered Do Comets Dream and Captain's glory by William Shatner.

Making Fake Star Trek by Andy Bray and John Lim - it's a behind the scenes look at a Star Trek fan film with Walter Koenig along for the ride.

The Captain's Oath by Christopher L. Bennett. I was surprised by the size of the book. It'll take a while until I can start reading it, because I'm still busy with other Trek books.

New this week! "The Q Conflict" #5 crossover comic from IDW; "Making Fake Star Trek" by Andy Bray & John Lim (about the making of the DC Fontana-penned fan-film, "New Voyages: To Serve All My Days"); and "Star Trek vs Transformers", the trade paperback omnibus of IDW's TAS/Transformers crossover comic mini-series.

Yes it seems like it's taking me awhile to read The Captain's Oath. I'm halfway through now.
