Jackie Brown - I've definitely grown to appreciate this movie a lot more as I've gotten older. In fact, I may rank it slightly above Pulp Fiction now in my favorite Tarantino movie list

Brightburn, a surprising movie
Continued my Godzilla rewatch with Godzilla vs. Mothra and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II.
Also watched Colossal for the first time, great little movie coupling indie dramedy with kaiju action. Anne Hathaway is doing a fantastic job in this one.
Watched Mad Max 2 and 3, for the first time since my teenage years, so it was basically like watching movies that I'd seen the trailers to. 2 is definitely the high point of the original trilogy, 3 felt a lot more mainstream, but still had a lot of nice crazy ideas and breathtaking stunt work.
And, finally, I watched the recent Hellboy movie. Better than I expected. In fact, I think if the GdT movies didn't exist, this would have been received very well.

The Birdcage (1996). It's one of my favorite films of all time.
First Man on HBOGO yesterday. Story of Neil Armstrong, mostly his test pilot/NASA years, say 1961 through 1969. Neat character story, mostly shot in documentary 'first person' style. Not a big box-office smash, but a decent movie and worth the watch. Claire Foy was very good too.
Not another rehashing of "Lord Of The Flies" I hope.

Really reminded me how much I miss Deep Space Nine!
Finished the Heisei Godzilla series with "Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla" and "Godzilla vs Destoroyah". GvSG is by far the worst of the Heisei series, even though it gives Miki Saegusa the lead role, but the plot is even more ridiculous than usual without being charming, and a lot of the movie feels like a bad romance movie targeted at young teenagers. On the other hand, GvD is arguably one of the best movies in the entire franchise, though, the best use of Miki yet, added by Megumi Odaka doing a really good job in the highly emotional finale, and Akira Ifukube does fantastic work in his final score for the series.
Aside from those movies, I watched two other movies on Sunday, both first time viewings. The first one was "The Dreamers" in the NC-17 cut, very bittersweet drama.
The second other film was "The Raid". Which was actually awesome. Like, actually making me awe in some scenes. The hype was fully deserved.

It's closer to 28 Days Later but without the zombies. It's based on a French comic book. I don't want to spoil all of the details but it's watchable. There's a twist in the tale.
