I made it very clear that I was merely succumbing to the irresistability of his treasure trail and it was a purely a physical heat of the moment thing. Then he wants to get all cuddly afterwards... WTF?

LOL

I love that treasure trail pic. He's sure got quite a lot of fetching shots. They don't call him Captain Fine for nothing, don'tcha know!

EDIT: I think it's time someone redrew that iconic K/S bathtub among the stars picture with Pine and Quinto instead

If you have access to HBO, the fifth season of "Six Feet Under" is available On Demand. Chris Pine is in the second episode of the season. He only has a small part, but it's prominent and worth the viewing.

He's very hot, but my oldest son is two months older than he is - so I can't lust after him too much. He is quite pretty.

Still a Spockist, though.

No access to HBO unfortunately. How prominent a part? Does he get shirtless? Or better? :)

His is the death of that episode. His dead body is shirtless - but fat and middle-aged. His ghost, however, is quite fit and gorgeous - but fully clothed.

Alright, because he's needing some help...

Com'on... Tall, dark, handsome... Big, villainous eyebrows (or even the ever-so-"logical" upward ones).

I gotta admit, I don't like this pic. I'm never a fan of the overuse of photoshop, but particularly on Pine, part of what I find hot about him is the scars that mitigate his excessive prettiness.

I didn't actually notice it was 'shopped! I didn't look that closely. Perhaps it isn't, but yes, I agree with you he looks much better in ordinary candid shots.

Ah, see, I dig the morbidity of that picture. MWAHAHA! (It's hilarious and strangely hot to me. It's gleefully evil. And tonguey. Also note the kitchen knife sticking out of ZQ. LOL.)

Com'on... you got to get points for making a head-slicing villain and a pointy-eared Vulcan sexy. That's material for us off-kilter girls to swoon over. Pine is very, very cute, but quite a standard, mainstream heartthrob.

Reading throgh the thread, I loved the discussion a few pages back about Pine's portrayal. I'm not feeling particularly wordy, so can only add: I didn't find Pine the least bit attractive in the previews/photospreads before I watched the movie. So, while I do appreciate his pretty eyes and lips, I can't help but think it really was the portrayal that worked for me.

Anyone catch Smokin' Aces? I watched it last week during my "I'll watch anyone that looks like Cpt Kirk, i.e. played by Chris Pine" phase. I didn't like the movie, but enjoyed a few of the characters/actors (including cpt fine himself). I thought the commentary was interesting though -- they definitely give the impression Pine almost didn't get his part because he was too good looking. Heh.

ZQ is "sexy" and CP is "cute", IMO. I really did enjoy them both, but those scenes with Uhura and the one where he has the "lost" expression after losing Amanda on the transporter pad did me in for ZQ. He has really emotive eyes.

And proof of how good ZQ is at playing the empathy card is the fact that he can take a very nasty villain like Sylar from gruesomely killing tons of people one second to being a geeky watchmaker/mama's boy who just wants to be loved and special the next. Heck, he can do cold, logical Vulcan-Spock, emotional, lost little boy-Spock, angry "emotionally-compromised"-Spock and goofy waffle-making future-Gabriel, too.

ZQ is a very fun actor to watch.

I think the super mainstream look is why I disregarded Pine before watching the movie. Not anymore though. :) He brought a lot to the role that had nothing to do with looking like the quarterback.

CP was cute, goofy and funny, but he didn't really make me feel sad and empathetic for him. ZQ did get the juicier dramatic role, though. CP is a far sight better than the Shat, though; I'll give him that in spades. ZQ got a very serious, dramatic part and the acting he can do with his eyes really put him on a whole 'nother level as far as the characters and casting in the film.

You've got a character who has trouble showing emotions, yet he gets the most emotional arc in the film. ZQ couldn't do a lot of big expressions, so it all had to come out in his eyes. It worked really dramatically.

If we didn't feel bad for Spock after his mom died and his entire planet was destroyed, then I think it would have been a poor acting job indeed. ;)

I have to admit he was probably the weakest of the major actors in the film, for me. (It was a really great cast, so that's not saying he was terrible at all.) Maybe I was comparing him too much to Nimoy, who I like better than all the rest of TOS cast. But, I felt more from Nimoy's "I just lost my people, I am emotionally compromised" than I felt for much of Quinto's scenes after the destruction of Vulcan. That said, I did really enjoy the Live Long and Die In a Fire scene, it was nice that Quinto looked so much like Nimoy, and I thought it was an interesting call to play Spock so arrogant and full of denial. It's good to see Spock be unlikeable sometimes just like it was good to see Kirk be unlikeable. It kept them interesting. I felt like their friendship was really earned.

I'd vote for Chekhov!

He amused me and was altogether adorable. :)

I totally disagree. I felt it from Quinto more than Nimoy (that's not a knock on Nimoy). Nimoy is better at playing taciturn, but Quinto is better at playing emotional and lost.

I just thought there was a dignified sadness to Nimoy.

But it's okay. We don't have to disagree. I think part of why this movie was successful was that so many people identified with so many different characters, situations, and emotional reactions.

I'm going to be totally contrarian 20-something and say I so wish there was a option for Pike in this poll. :D

All other things being equal, I'll take an uberattractive mature man over an uberattractive 20 something. There's a dignity and grativas to Pike that only age and experience can bestow on a person, and his younger counterparts are yet to develop it (and when they do I hope they wear it well). I find that such a turn on.

Ah well, given my options, after careful deliberation I'll choose Quinto/Spock. I did not realize until I saw his publicity shots how easy on the eyes Quinto is when he's out of character.

That's kind of my point though. Quinto as Spock I don't find sexy at all. Quinto himself I find attractive. Pine I find sexy both in character and out. Either way, he'll always be my Captain Fine

I got that on DVD just to see if Pine can act (worried about Trek, didn't know the guy). Hells yah! Loved it! :rommie:
I totally missed the kitchen knife in ZQ! LOL, that picture is sick and twisted!
That's the stuff they need more of in Heroes to salvage that poor show. :rommie:

You gotta be extra hawt to shine thru that horrible stuff they slap on Spock - the uniform that makes him look scrawny, the sallow makeup and the (ugh ugh ugh) haircut. Good for him for not letting it all totally sabotage him!
