Kitty called for jury duty: LINK

:guffaw:

I want to see this actually happen -- too good to pass up! Exhibit A: Cheeseburger

The user comment by someone going by hoeech, about sums up what should really happen here.

Why don't they just ignore the summons? There's no real person with that name, so there would be no one to arrest.

Miss Chicken has informed me that if she called for jury service and finds out that the accused does not own a cat but owns a dog she will find them guilty no matter the crime, no matter the evidence.

At least the kitty isn't on the "No fly" list like that 8 year old kid from Az.

If I was the defense attorney, I'd insist on having he cat on the Jury, then turn the whole trial into a media embarrassment for the prosecution

Funny story, but it has me a bit confused -the combination of a name and an address is the only requirement for a juror?

Here you have to be a registered part in the democratic process to get jury duty; not just a voter (everyone over 18 has the right to vote) but a member of a party! -plus you'd need a CPR-number (~social security number) which only people have.

Is it a story about some overworked public servant entering the cat into the system by mistake? -I just don't understand how something like this could happen!

Generally speaking, you need to either be registered to vote or have a driver's license. Somebody screwed up. However, since the request for an exemption was denied, if I were the owner, I'd show up and let the chaos ensue. It's not their fault.
