Ladies: "Chakotay" vs. "The Doctor" for "Seven of Nine?"

This is from another thread:

I think Doctor/Seven was the pairing that would have made the MOST sense. THAT'S what I wanted to see.
But, women don't always go for men "that make sense" to them. Chakotay knows how to communicate with women (Look how easily he communicates with Kathryn, and all the women aboard...). He knows how to be gentle, charming, suave, listen, give, and when to take control. Seven saw that confident, leader-like quality in him balanced with that gentle side. Plus, look at that smile (especially those dimples), and the confident look in his eyes. He is a romantic, take charge type of guy. It wasn't just Seven, but plenty of other women on that ship that desired to be with Chakotay, too.

Seven may not like a bald, selfish, narcissistic, arrogant, self-absorbed, and overbearing hologram like the Doctor, and consider him to be "just a friend." He is annoyingly ALL OVER EVERYTHING, and tries to be in control all the time. There is no room for Seven in that relationship, because ultimately the Doctor only cares about himself, his requirements, and his accomplishments. How he can best help her, and so forth. He has a lot of learning to do when it comes to the whole "give and take" of relationships.

I wouldn't have given two shits which one she chose. Poor writing would have tanked the more popular D/7 pairing just as a little bit of..oh, I dunno, logical planning would have done C/7 wonders.

The thing with C/7 just seemed like it happened because TIIC didn't know what else to do with Chuckles in the end, and just had to fill the screentime somehow.

If I were Seven of Nine, The Doctor would be a more efficient companion.

However, since I'm not Seven, I would prefer Chakotay (pretending that he's real and I was born at the right time). Unforunately, since I'm not Seven, I probably couldn't get Chakotay.

Tom's taken. Harry wouldn't be the man in the relationship. Neelix is too eager to please. Tuvok is married and stiff. Hm...which way to the holodeck?

His bedroom (Yes, he does eat crackers in bed!):

No contest. I hate Opera sung by wanna-be's. :D

I like the Doc, but only in small doses. I always find him pretty smug and annoying after a while, and I think he'd be VERY high-maintainance in a relationship, too. I'll take Chakotay any day of the week. Yoink!

My personal preference would be Chakotay too but then I'm not Seven. Given her history with both characters on the show the Doctor makes more sense.

Since the Borg reproduce biologically (established in Q-Who?) Seven would logically choose a mate that was capable of biological reproduction, I think that might be a little beyond the Doctors capabilities.

It would seem that the doctor is just as capable of reproducing (he had a son on the planet that was out of sync with the time continium, with presumably less resources than on voyager).

With that said, I think that biological reproduction for the borg is done through artificial insemination anyway (look what happens when borg get aroused :P)

But did the Doctor create the son he had on that planet or adopt him? He doesn't have DNA, does his holo-matrix replicate sperm containing Zimmerman's DNA or something?

Who cares about Seven! I'll take Chaks anytime.

BTW, Sir Riker. You seem to be well versed in what women want. Just why is that when so many men think the opposite?

It is other people's perception of who you are that matters in this world. Not who you think you are on the inside. Successful people are well aware of this.

#1) Wrong approach: "What can I do to get women to like me?"

#2) Right approach: "What do women see when they look at and think of me?"

Maybe. Problem with your theory Sir Will, is that both success and perception are in the eye of the beholder.

That said, let's switch things. If I was on Voyager, I'd run as far and as fast as possible from the Dr. Therefore, what sort of women do you think would attract Chakotay and what sort the Dr.? (You may theorise using the women of Voyager, if it so pleases you)

Chuckling.

Perception is reality.

For example, James Gandolfini may as well be one of the nicest guys in the world. He knows this on the inside.

However, when most others see him, all they see is a big guy with a mean look on his face.

You know who you are on the inside. But, it is other people that define who you are, your role, your personality, and identity in this world.

In the fictional universe of USS Voyager, Chakotay has mastered this. In my opinion, The Doctor has not. :borg:

Approach #2 is definitely the way to go. That said, right now I'm willing to settle for any guy that (1) golfs and (2) isn't a bowser. And right now, #1 is more important than #2.

But anyway, Seven should go for Chakotay- I'm pretty sure she hasn't hit that desperation point. She already tried the holographic thing: Now it's time to step up and go for the real deal. Hard to re-gain your humanity playing around with a bunch of photons and forcefields.

Remember that VOY episode where B'Elanna fantasized about being under the covers with Chakotay? I know for a fact that a lot of female Chakotay fans wished that they were B'Elanna at that moment with Chakotay deep inside. Making love to her, while gazing into her eyes.

The guy's got "the looks" and "the status." You can bet a lot of ambitious women like Kathryn, Seska, B'Elanna, and Seven fantasized about wanting to be with him.

I'd vote for the Doctor because Seven and he were already friends. Chaks made clear at times he didn't like Seven much, so the Doctor makes more sense to me. Personally I would prefer the real deal Chakotay ;)

That wasn't the question GoodWill.
I'm asking what Chakotay and the Dr. would look for in their "woman". Personally, I don't think Chakotay's ideal existed on "Voyager".
