La-La Land to release 15-disc original series score set

Umm... "33-page booklets?" Is one of the pages a Mobius strip or something?

But still, great news -- more notes, more details! And three clamshell cases, one per season... that would mean there are five discs per case. Not sure how that would work, structurally speaking. I just hope it doesn't entail disc frames that are either a) too flimsy so the discs fall out in shipping and get scratched or b) too hard to pop the disc out of so that I'm terrified I'll break it.

I take it you don't own the TNG Ron Jones Project? From what I've seen, this set is similar.

Oh! Actually I do have the Ron Jones set, and it does have cases with five discs in them. I'd misremembered and thought there were only four each.

I think it's great that each season gets it's own booklet, with an overview booklet.

33x3=99; +24 and we have 123 pages, approx. :)

Mr. Bond seems to have done a lot of work on this one.

I'm not hunting for leftover TOS CDs from GNP, as much as I enjoy them.

But if there's some good LLLR, Intrada or FSM CDs that I missed out on before they sold out/went out of print, I'm there. :)

That's how I got "Masters of the Universe" LLLR edition.

Indy ... how long do you think this set will be available? The timing is financially difficult for me, coming right at Christmas and after having just put out enough money on a TOS Enterprise model kit to cause my wife to raise a skeptical eyebrow.

I have no idea. Some seem to think at 6,000 units it will be around for awhile. If I could predict supply and demand do you think I'd be producing soundtracks? ;)

Neil

Nice selection of case cover images. I am soooooo thrilled about this!

Side thought, I wonder if the value of the original GNP LP of The Cage/WNMHGB will have any value--historical value (as a collectible) once this superior, complete version is released?

The value of all the other original soundtracks has plummeted once expanded versions have been released, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Basically, supply will vastly outstrip demand with regards to the GNP TOS CDs.

With the LP, however, I'm not sure, as there is a submarket for LPs, but I doubt it'll get much either way.

Once I have this set, my GNP CDs are going to a good friend who's been getting into soundtracks in a pretty big way (with a few introductory nudges from me, hehe).

I am so glad that this is being done, and cannot imagine the amount of work involved in all areas (restoration, editing/mastering, contracts and negotiations, financing, artwork, liner notes, and other things I cannot even think of).

I get to thank some of the responsible parties in person on December 3rd, which will be great.

What a nice thought. I wish I could do the same. When you're working on something you love or feel called to do it is great work, but work nevertheless, so again, thanks to the planners and doers!

Nope. I suspect Black Friday, or maybe the day before, as it is one of La-La Land's Black Friday releases.

But I do know one thing: I'm curious. :)

So am I, but mostly confused. Isn't Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving? I thought this set was coming out December 4? Did I miss an anoucement somewhere?
