Kurtzman intentionally killed Legacy?

Though they're still fine with referencing events from Picard. They have inserted the synth attack on Mars into STO's timeline for example, Seven mentions being part of the Fenris rangers in a mission.

And as mentioned above, while Hugh is coming back he's still based on his appearence from Picard Season 1.

The game is just in a slightly different timeline from the shows events, but several of the events still happened.

Doesn't STO still use the Hobus stuff, instead of the supernova being the Romulan sun?
If it were the actual Romulan star going supernova wouldn't that have caused a lot more problems for Romulus much sooner and have basically engulfed the planet rather than shattered it with a shockwave? Also wouldn't it have been detectable much much sooner with plenty of time for an evacuation.

I think the early signs of the star going nova and starting Starfleet's assistance plan makes sense but then Hobus going surprise nova as depicted in STO allows for the devestation and also a more sensical reason as to why so many lives were lost without relying on unreasonable incompetence.

I just don't look too close at STO lore to worry about whether it fits with what we've seen in Picard. Picard takes precedence, but I just handwave a lot of the stuff that doesnt line up.

It's a game, so I enjoy it as such. It's just nice to hear from the actors. Like Big Finish and Doctor Who.

it would have better to say that the Romulan sun showed signs of going nova, and Federation worked with Romulans to stabilize the star with the "Red matter". It gets used, but it does the opposite. Romulan star is radically destabilized. Instead adding decades or centuries of life for the star, it will now nova in weeks, maybe hours.

Some Romulans believed that the Federation did this deliberately.

Isn't that exactly the plot of ST09? Spock plans to save the star, it backfires and kills everyone, making Nero mad for revenge on him?

The way I remember it, the star explodes ahead of schedule and Spock arrives too late to save Romulus, but in time to save everyone else.
Correct, it seems obvious that it wasn't supposed to have been Romulus' sun, but I guess someone on the Picard team decided to listen to the science advisor even though Trek has had superluminal shockwave for decades.
