Yeah, the whole thing stretched credibility, but I never questioned that he was Picard's son.Speleers was excellent in the role, though: I think we can all agree on that.
I don't fault any of the actors in season 3. They all made the best of the scripts they were given, which is no small task.Speleers was excellent in the role, though: I think we can all agree on that.
The birth control itself was not faulty. It would have been completely effective if Sisko and Kasidy had both taken their meds. But one of them didn't. That's the only reason it failed.
This is the 24th century we're talking about here. The idea that birth control isn't absolutely reliable is just not an option. They MUST have fixed that problem by now.
So as for Jack, I guess it's the same thing. Either Beverly forgot to take her meds or Picard did. That's probably all it was.
Yeah, that IS odd, but it is what it is.Why would birth control be designed to be ineffective if only one partner takes it? That seems odd...

Not just odd, downright dystopian. All an abuser has to do is not take it and they've got you tied to them. Why would birth control be designed to be ineffective if only one partner takes it? That seems odd...

Hey still better than 30+ year old high school students ala Beverly Hills 90210."Hey, let's portray a young man in his early twenties with an actor in his mid-thirties, not try to hide it and then have the character's background and origin be so poorly written that even the people who'll enjoy these episodes will be frustrated."
Or Head of the Class. The snotty rich guy in the class was in his thirties when the series was being filmed but playing a teenager.
He was ok.Speleers was excellent in the role, though: I think we can all agree on that.
It might have helped if Matalas had actually decided what year the season took place in before writing, or even during writing rather than during post-production."Hey, let's portray a young man in his early twenties with an actor in his mid-thirties, not try to hide it and then have the character's background and origin be so poorly written that even the people who'll enjoy these episodes will be frustrated."

There’s a lot about season 3 that feel tacked on in post.It might have helped if Matalas had actually decided what year the season took place in before writing, or even during writing rather than during post-production.
I personally liked Ed Speleers, but I can see why other people didn't.
