They should have split the difference with this new SyFy reboot and rebranded to 'SiFi'.

I haven't seen it. However, I'm not that thrilled with Marvel's new logo for the MCU.

As for this new series, I see that someone had finally decided to use Russell Crowe's idea . . . only for television.

I like the logo. Makes me think of older sci-fi movies. Whether or not that was the intention...

I'm getting something of a 70's paperback Chris Foss vibe from it.
Not sure it I actually *like* it though. We'll see.

This show definitely looks at least 'okay'.

This looks less cheap than I'm accustomed to from SyFy.

Those 20 seconds did more to get me excited for this than the entire 2+ minute trailer for the Inhumans did for it.

Even Killjoys looks better than Inhumans...

I hope they clean up the effects on Medusa's hair. It was downright cartooney.

So do I, but that's a separate question from how its production values stack up. Nobody's likely to mistake it for a big-budget extravaganza.

    Me too.
And even though it's obviously a cheap show to make they manage to create a more unique look and detailed worlds on 1/10th (probably even less) of the budget of Inhumans...

When I watch Gotham it's a bit of a tease. It has everything going for it except Batman. So I fear Krypton may just have me longing for Superman. I will give it a chance, it does look good!

I think most of what Gotham has going for it is that the city is almost a character all on it's own. Even without Batman it's still an interesting, colourful and bonkers place in which to tell almost any story.

I don't know that Krypton can have that same appeal. I mean the society of Krypton has always been about the least interesting part of Superman's backstory, in any iteration. It's all hyper-advanced technology, stuffy councillors and an entrenched, stagnant culture. Not really an enticing backdrop in and of itself.

On the other hand, that makes it a relative blank slate that can easily be filled in with whatever the writers can imagine. This strikes me as a lot like Caprica -- it's basically a chance to develop a whole alien civilization and a family/political saga that takes place within it, and the fact that it's taking place a generation before a known set of events is essentially secondary, just a starting point (in reverse) for the worldbuilding and a hook to get the audience in the door.
