I thought it was interesting that everyone is named after elements from the periodic table. Probably so the scientists won't get attached to them.

It means a fictional story with Christian themes/characters. The Bible is not fiction. I know not everyone believes that, though...

Being Christian fiction doesn't make a book bad. A Wrinkle In Time was one of my favorite books when I was a kid, and I didn't even realize it was a Christian book until decades later.
I've never read that one or the Narnia books (I've seen the first Disney Narnia movie though). The neat thing about Christian fiction is you can find some awesome stories in almost any genre you prefer. And you don't have to have a great story interrupted by gratuitous scenes/images.
Well, I'm not Christian, so I'm sure I'm not bothered by the same scenes or images that you're talking about (I do remember underage nudity in A Wrinkle In Time, though-- I doubt if that will make it into the movie adaptation). But I don't mind if a book is written with a religious perspective in mind, as long as the purpose is not to indoctrinate or as long as it's not a hateful religion. I certainly don't mind religious imagery or themes used as metaphor-- I'm an Atheist and I've done that many times in my own writing.
