Krall appearance?

Since Krall, formerly Balthazar M. Edison, was a villain in the making from the Star Trek Enterprise era, he should be living during the events of Star Trek Discovery. It would be a loose thread never addressed in the prime timeline. Think they'll throw that in there?

They could (assuming you mean finding him again). Whether Elba would put in an appearance is an entirely different question.

Not sure I have much interest in seeing it anyhow. The character was not well developed and is probably the weakest element of Beyond.

Fairly certain they won't. At least not in the beginning of the show. I'm sure – or at the very least hope – they will try to establish their own unique version of Trek without referencing something that was only introduced to the franchise such a short while ago.

You are making my point, they never talked about it, so it never appeared on the show.

There's no reason to think Krall would ever appear on DSC. He'll still be stuck on Altamid.

Between "should" and "could", I see the latter facing great hurdles. Sure, Krall might be alive despite whatever ripples from the 2233 event reached Altamid. But him getting out without nuKirk's help is dubious. That is, he could get out at any time, but the reason he does is because nuKirk finds that WMD for him.

An off-the-cuff mention of disappeared starships, the Franklin among them, is quite plausible and perhaps even likely; I'm sure the writers will go for cute canon-dropping like that sooner rather than later. Krall actually playing a plot role, not so much.

That's still open for debate - a debate I won't get into right now, save to say that we might see a version of Balthazar M. Edison who may or may not be Captain of the Franklin, and for that matter, a version of the Franklin that may or may not have ended up at Altamid.

They are, because ENT comes well before the divergence. Both the prime and Kelvin timelines are possible futures when ENT takes place.

There were none - it was a predestination paradox. ST:FC was simply part of what was supposed to happen.

As for Krall: As of 2233 - when the prime and Kelvin timelines diverge - of course he'd still be stuck on Altamid. In the prime timeline, I guess another ship could have stumbled across him. It could even be the Discovery itself. But there's really no reason for DSC to do this, because Beyond already has. A DSC episode could mention what happened to Prime Krall - like mentioning it in a computer log or something - but as for an appearance, that wouldn't work.

Don't know. Idris Elba did appear on Law & Order once, and of course he was a regular on Homicide, but that was a long time ago.

With all the time travelling the crew did, Discovery can be the Star Trek of any universe that Worf encountered in 'Parallels'

And how do you propose they do that?

There was a USS Archer in Nemesis, though. Not to mention the Defiant - which is quite obviously a TOS ship - turning up in ENT's "In a Mirror, Darkly". That good enough for ya?

Well you clearly have a prime story from TNG used in TATV, that to me makes it clear that it's prime.

And yes I feel slightly ashamed for referencing that episode.
