Knight Rider is over

That just FRAKKIN SUCKS!!!!

Yes the show was dumb and poorly written, but it was fun and enjoyable in its silliness. Now they will probably fill its spot with some stupid dancing/singing/fat asses trying to lose weight/reality crap.

I could have lived with the generic writing and juvenile sex talk, but for me the main issue was it was a car show that had hardly any car stunts in it.

I mean, WTF was the point? It would be like a Dukes of Hazzard remake where the General Lee just sat in the background looking pretty while Bo and Luke ran around solving all the problems.

It's just... retarded.

I'm not really surprised. I wonder if Ford may have had something to do with this too. If you watch the credits they're listed as a financial backer of the show.

Yup, that's it. The show was surviving from being a glorified Ford ad. Now that Ford is in desperate straits, they have to cut back all nonessential expenses, and this dumb show certainly should be the first thing they jettison. :rommie:

But shows like KR that are effectively hour-long ads will be more common in the future. DVR viewing ensures it. I just hope future shows are not dumb enough to hook their wagon to the auto industry.

"Knight Rider" ran off the road
"Knight Rider" runs out of gas
Say 'good-Knight' to "Knight Rider"

These things practically write themselves. :p

Can they just cancel the show but move KITT an hour later in the time slot? I think KITT and Charlie Crews would make a great tandum.

Not Quiet Canceled

Yes, they havent ordered any more episodes. But no, it's not an official cancellation. That fate depends on the ratings of the remaining episodes.

Well, that actually sounds fair. Hopefully the retooling will be good and give the show the help it needs, because that sounded promising.

Knight Rider needs A LOT of retooling. Specifically, getting rid of Chloe and Billy.

Well I for one did not see this coming.

Just kiddin', I totally did. Back in the 40's when the original show was made talking cars were a thing of the future that everyone thought would be effing awesome. Nowadays, just about any car you get talks to you about a wide range of things like feelings and current events. Having a show about that just isn't interesting any more, the ability to paint the future and disappearing islands are where it's at.

The main reason I watched the show was having DVR for the first time. So I been able to sample things I normally would never get a chance to see.

When the Producer Thompson came on after the tv movie he made all of these specific claims of changes to come. Yet none of that stuff ever really happened. In particular he talked about getting back to "the man who does not exist" premise of the first series Pilot. Other than "killing off" Mike Tracer in the first episode and renaming himself Michael Knight that has been insignificant to this series. There was some early mystery about his missing memories of Iraq but that was dropped early on.

This show reeks of network interference. Not that NBC has prevented some brilliant tv from happening. Of course not! But Knight Rider has certain expectations of a high tech car and chase scenes. Instead it was a generic crime drama.

And it failed at that as well.
