Knight Rider Is Out of Gas

Re: Knight Rider Is Out of Gas (Cancelled)

Saw this coming. It was fun while it lasted. I wonder what the future of the Knight Rider franchise holds.

^ I recall reading somewhere that Larson still wants to do the movie...

It did get better, but honestly I knew it had no hope in today's land of TV. Networks don't give a show any chance unless it is an instant hit.

I think the mini showed a lot of promise, but I never did like the transformers KITT. The constant shoving down our throats of Ford was also pretty bad, felt like I was watching a commercial, TOS never did that.

My kid saw the ads for Knight Rider a couple days ago because it just started airing here. he gushed.i roared at the little bastard "I offered you half a season 6 months ago and you blinked at me like like I was yawning in slow motion." But now He's changed his mind.

The last couple episodes have been shit though since they started trying to save money to stave cancellation. The Glen Larsen form plot is super obvious right down to where thy all sit around the car at the end and thank Michael for being so cool.

I always liked the transformations from the mini better than those of the show.

I completely agree, wish they had stuck with what we saw in the mini.

Yep. Transforming into a completely different vehicle was Teh Skuc :scream: It's a shame, because after the re-tool the show vastly improved. Hopefully, if NBC has anyone checking these boards they'll give it another season. Hell, the original was almost canceled but was saved by a massive letter writing campaign.

If the show really is, for sure and good, canceled then I'm disapointed but not surprised. I had hoped NBC would continue to give it chance to build an audience over the refurbishing, etc. as they seem to be the most forgiving of all the net works (:glares at Fox:), but oh well.

:(

Good bye hotties.

Let's mail them black trans ams instead and maybe they'll bring back the Hoff! :bolian:

As much as I'd love to think this is pure rumor, I don't think the show has much of a chance at coming back. I already contributed to a letter writing campaign. Sad. They were finally getting it right and *poof*.

There is a film project being done by Larson, but that's been in development hell for years. Then again, they finally made "Watchmen" so who knows?

As for any future TV projects, I'd say what this show did was to give them a good template of what not to do in many respects. Hopefully any future TV projects will avoid the pitfalls that this show went crashing into.

Studio execs and producers always have been, and always will be, effing stupid. Look at the CW, a network that won't push great shows such as Supernatural and Reaper, instead concentrating on turds such as Gossip Girl.

I'm not surprised, but I'm still sad to see the show go. They were still figuring things out. At least the last episode had it all, car chases, bikini babes and silly banter between Michael and KITT.
Thanks for the memories...
