Knight Rider Ep12 to feature a character from TOS... Spoilers

Of course, all of this is assuming the network doesn't cancel this stupid show before episode 12.

I'd hope not. It was guaranteed 13 eps, with a potential additional 9 on "back order". Four more scripts have been commissioned beyond the initial 13 (but that really doesn't mean a whole lot unless they're put into production of course).

So you're telling me Knight Industries was actually stupid enough to keep around ANOTHER evil KITT prototype??? Lol :D

^^Unlikely. TV shows usually make deals with a particular auto company to provide the cars used in the show. KR is basically an extended Ford product-placement exercise, and it wouldn't be possible to make it without Ford's willing cooperation. And Ford wouldn't be happy if the show spotlighted a rival company's vehicles, even as an "evil" car.

this is precisely the reason why Will Arnett couldn't do the voice of KITT . . . he had previously done commercials for GM or Chrysler (I forget which)

seems like everyone is an old buddy of Mike's from Iraq . . . I though he was supposed to be 'dead' to cut ties with his past life?

No kidding. nuMichael Knight really should have had plastic surgery like his old man or at the very least dye his hair or something.

If you read the casting call descriptions, it seems more like someone has KARR's AI and wants to install it in the new KITT body.

^ Oh ok. I remember that though. Maybe that happened in the video game (it was Garthe Knight and KARR teaming up against Michael/KITT).

^ Didn't that happen in TOS too?

Nah, KARR was left smashed to pieces in the ravine, and that's the last we saw of him.

Don't you think it's funny that F.L.A.G would leave the remains in the ravine rather than pick them up? It could have been an editorial decision to have Michael do his wrap scene then cut to KARR's debris, and they could have been collected later. Still, KARR's CPU and his molecular bonded shell would be a valuable asset to just leave lying around.

Unlikely, considering all the fuss in the first Goliath episode about KITT's M.B.S formula being stolen, and the fuss when KARR went missing the first time round.

Since Charles whatshisnuts engineered the Knight Two-Thousand and the current Three-Thousand, then one could reason he was also behind the engineering of KARR.. Perhaps he learned many lessons regarding AI's and their learning abilities even though KARR was programmed for self preservation. It would be interesting if the back story would go into how KARR was shut down the first time.

If anyone remembers, when KARR was destroyed, there was a final shot of his CPU with flashing lights amongst the wreckage, seeming to indicate he wasn't completely destroyed. It seems like a natural sequel and homage to the original show. And yep, I actually remember this from the original airing (haven't seen it since!).
