Not bad but, then again, I didn't get to see all of it. Above Average.

Wait did KITT turn into a submarine?

Nice touch with Michael and Zoe's cover names being Devon and Bonnie.

It's getting better — more field work and less time in the KITTcave. This one was a lot of fun, and I'm finally starting to warm up to Justin Bruening as the series lead. It'll never be exactly like the 80s series; we've gotten too used to shows with big ensembles (even if there's a clear series lead) for it to just be Michael and KITT on the road all the time. So I think the new show is finally hitting its stride, and I can enjoy it for what it is.

edit: Looking at the preview for next week, it looks like we've got our first "Naked Now": a full-fledged rip-off of a Classic KR episode. Michael gets poisoned during an undercover operation and has only hours to live as he struggles to locate the bad guy with the antidote. In 1984, they called it "Dead of Knight" (and reused an awful lot of footage from the pilot episode, to the point where the baddies were dressed like those baddies so they would match footage of them fleeing an exploding plane). Next week, it's called "A Hard Day's Knight." :p

I'm kind of confused about the KITTCave. Initially when they showed KITT coming out of the cargo plane early on I figured that would be the base of operations and we'd see Mike depart out of there on his missions. With a little creativity and maybe some stock shots you could basically set a show anywhere without actually having to go there. I guess the show is going to be pretty much in Californina now.

Zoe was prettty cute and c'mon Mike you wake up naked in bed with an empty bottle of Tequila and you're going to say nothing happened?

I think Paul Campbell should be forced to play characters named Billy for the rest of his career.

Was I the only one who found these guys passing as surfer bro's a bit unlikely?

I have a hard time with this show because objectively it's probably not very good but it's such a throwback to an earlier era that I find myself enjoying it too much out of nostalgia or whatever to analyze it very closely. This evokes much of the feel I got from the shows I grew up watching. Actually it's a like the syndicated shows we used to get not so long ago which were generally fun and bright but didn't always have the best writing.

I enjoyed this episode because for the first time, no one felt like they were overacting and the main characters all worked together very smoothly. This is the first episode where I'm seeing chemistry between everyone from Torres to Billy to Zoe. As much as we can expect from escapist fun like KR, this ep really did have some great character moments. Mike's look as Sarah and Billy showed up at the door is priceless, and his frustration towards the end when he discovers yet another ex-soldier recognizes him made me sad for him.

The KITT getting "blown over the side" thing could have been done smoother, but I actually get why the shot was done that way. It's all about creative license. I can think of a couple different ways the scene could have been shot, but they all add to the show's run time and would have cost more in VFX budget.

I think there needs to be some type of VFX when KITT gets shot (such as the sparks in the old show). Even another nano/heal shot (can the basic wireframes from the 2 hr movie be reused?). Some indication of KITT either abosrbing hits or deflecting hits would be helpful as we had last week with the windshield shots.

I really did enjoy the sub-car thing. It did remind me of James Bond (in fact, most of that sequence did) including the car coming onto the beach.

I cannot stand it when TV shows or movies show sparks flying from a vehicle when it gets shot, especially when there is no bullet damage. Anyone with firearms experience knows that bullets (even jacketed) don't cause anything to spark.

So, how long until they run out of clever ways to incorporate "Knight" into the title of each episode?

I guess with knight industries flourishing now the "one man can make a difference" ideal doesn't make much sense.

Even Devon thought that the idea of one man and his car was absurd in the 82 pilot.

Now we have dozens of nameless techs running around acting like they're busy.

it would have been better if knight industries was in shambles, then we could have a skeleton crew with limited supplies to fix KITT.

Smith Cho is hot but Zoey is annoying

"burn rubber KITT!"
"Burning Rubber"

ARGH!

KITT can submerse? I feel like TPTB are just throwing all the bells and whistles too fast and its just the third episode! Yes, KITT2000 did get gadgets fairly regularly but damn not this fast.

Back in the 80's KITT wasn't a icon as he is now.

Now the kids that use to watch the show are behind the scenes and just adding all the "kewl" stuff in like attack mode and truck mode and now underwater mode.

Also the scanner wasn't so loud that we have to be aware of it's presence. One whoosh whoosh is enough.
