See, we say we at times want some mindless entertainment but this show is trying to do both so our fan boy brain says:
- is it mindless nonsensical fun
or
- is it going to be deeper than it appears

Fair enough.

But based on what I've seen so far, my brain says "Don't hold them to anything they said last week."

I just turn off my brain and enjoy the pretty colors. And as mindless entertainment goes, I think this new show does a pretty good job.

And, of course, the success of Transformers is what generated interest in a new Knight Rider, so it only makes sense that we would get something similar.

I think there should be a running gag that whenever Deanna Russo's character strips down, Bruce Davison's character should be walking by the monitors in the KITT Cave and start complaining. You could make a drinking game out of it.

I forgot about the epic truck launch off the cliff and ensuing fireball, they just don't make TV like that anymore.

Yeah it was refreshing to see a real, honest-to-goodness car stunt on this show instead of just another CG effect.

I'm guessing that wasn't a Ford though. ;)

If it had been a Ford, it would have survived the fall intact, bounced back up the mountain, and the bad guy would have jumped out of the truck unscathed.

I'm waiting for KARR to show up in a new body. Maybe a Charger? Then he can turn into a Dodge Ram. More product placement! (Dodge may give them the ones from Sarah Connor - who knows!)

Stupid. Cheesy. Unoriginal.

And......fun! :p

Best episode by a turbo-boosted mile. Deanna Russo's hotness goes a long way to masking over major plot flaws.

I'm actually looking forward to next week's episode. :wtf:

I just wish that the bit where KITT was whizzing towards the camera in this episode was part of the titles, just like in the original series.

KITT-Michael interaction could be improved, but KITT's closing joke ("You're more useful than a horse") had me laughing.

In thinking about it, this show just doesn't have much substance.

Not that TOS was all that substansive but it was better than this.

I mean, what was the whole point of Russo's character going to that Play Boy mansion? In the end it was nothing more than to get her in a bikini and show other women scantly clad.

She walks in, walks up to the car, steals it, shoots some guys, and drives off. The whole scene took like a couple of minutes. When it could've taken a lot more of the episode and been much more substansive. With her, like, trying to keep the owner distracted and occupied while Michael steals the car.

The whole show seems like a few quicky moments of masturbation strung together. These characters also have no depth or substance.

And they really need to ditch the base/HQ stuff. It's getting to be too much and too farcical.

I watched two episodes based on a memory of a show I watched when I was 13....and it was bad..very, very bad.

Well them stealing the car was such a minor part of the story, that I don't think we needed any more time devoted to it.

And yeah getting her into the bikini was cheesy and gimmicky, but I'd say it was STILL more believable than the stripping down in the car in the previous episode. :D

And I wouldn't say the original was more "substantive," but it was certainly less juvenile and sex-obsessed than this new show.
