Klingon Martial Art(s)

Which earth martial arts do you think inspire ST to create Klingon martial art(s)? I would have to probably say: Muay Thai and Krabi Krabong because it is the most brutal and the sole purpose of this art is maim and kill people the quickest possible ways. This ancient form of art was used in gladiatorial combat, so they've tested every possible ways to find out which moves don't work and which really works in real situations. Often time, the winners after the matches were the ones that were still alive! Different institutions fought against and tried to topple one another to see who will come out on top by killing each others. [scary]

Well, from what we've seen on screen, the Klingon martial arts have been inspired by Tai Chi. We really haven't seen anything that shows the Klingon martial arts as effective as Muay Thai. Besides, Savate is the most powerful. :P

Trust me.... When someone is trying to kill you and you under tremendous amount of pressure, most martial arts fail, except for one! :techman: :P

For one, I wouldn't say that Klingons would be interested in killing quickly and efficiently. They seem to enjoy the fight and the bloodshed, so it stands to reason that they will hone their martial arts (in general) to keep the fight long, fun and bloody (which should be easy, given the redundant organs). So in addiction to the Tai Chi-inspired Mok'bara, I'll say something like kick-boxing or wrestling: half combat and half show.

Quick and lethal seems more an Andorian thing, so maybe something akin to Krav Maga (Israeli army combat) or Pradal Serey (Cambodian free fighting).

As for Vulcan martial arts, I'll give them something aggressive and violent from the ancient times (maybe similar to Tae Kwon Do, who would also be advantageous for their long limbs), and something more defensive/philosophical for post-Surak times (for example, Aikido).

Well, if you wanna prolong the fight, then there would be no eye gouging, biting and ball-kicking-and-grabbin...! :rommie:
