Kirk's Black Uniform Shirt From the Promo Pics

What is the deal with this? I'm curious as to why they're holding off showing him in his command gold uniform? Everyone else is in there uniforms, and the Empire magazine cover has the Starfleet Enterprise Emblem while the other shots don't. Is the black uni sort of like his off duty wrap around he had in the Original series? Obviously so not a big deal, its probably story related but I'm dying to see Pine in his command gold. Also if this is a time travel story where we're flashing back to various periods of Kirk's career are we going to see updated versions of the movie uniforms? Those are my favourite.

That is what I thought...read another post that it could be part of a starfleet combat uniform since on the bridge pic we see his hand wrapped up.
