Kirk's best wrapper

Kirk and spock loved to sum up any given episode with a little dialog, usually with McCoy with them...Which episode had the best 'wrap up'. You know, the "did you get what we were trying to say?" wrap up.

I always kind of liked "Friday's Child."

Spock: "The boy was named Leonard James Akaar?"
McCoy: "The name has a certain ring to it. Doesn't it, James?'
Kirk: "Yes, I believe it's a name bound to go down in galactic history, Leonard. What do you think, Spock?"

That's a classic. You left out Spock's rejoinder though!

Spock: "I think the two of you are going to be insufferably pleased with yourselves for at least a week. Sir."

I was always partial to the ending of "A Piece of the Action". Not so much because of the dialogue, but because of the way they freeze frame it. It was like the end of an episode of "CHiPs".

My favorites are "Mirror/Mirror" and "Journey to Babel", just good old Kirk/Spock/McCoy bantering. Have to say though that Spock did a great wrapper for "Squire of Gothos" - classic facial expressions.

I always enjoyed the epilogue for Galileo 7 (although the laughter was a bit over the top in the "forced" department, as I recall).

Whoops! Slow typing on my part makes my post a clone of erastus25's post.

Word! That scene from Free Enterprise is hilarious. Love Shat's gold chain, too! And when they show the dwarf dressed like Alexander from Plato's Stepchildren is classic.

Getting back to the o.p., my favorite is still Mirror, Mirror. When Spock insults all humanity, and Kirk says, "I'm not sure but I think we've been insulted," and McCoy responds, "I'm sure."

It was so good they used part of it in DSN's Trials & Tribbleations for the scene where Sisko speaks with Kirk.

They used a later part of that speech, but they didn't use any part of the "I think we've been insulted" wrapper for Sisko's scene with Kirk. They used the other part of Marlena's introduction. :wtf:

This is true. They inserted Sisko in the part where the landing party stares in shock at their version of Marlena. I do like when Spock asks hims if Kirk knew Moreau and Kirk says no. Then he says, "She just seems like a nice, likable girl. I think we could be friends. It's possible." As the end credits roll, you see Kirk go up to Moreau and take her padd from her and engage her in conversation. Good times! -- RR

Just to continue being anal-retentive about all things TOS, it's not a PADD. It wasn't even called a PADD. PADDs are purely a TNG invention, like replicators or holodecks or overly cushiony and needlessly luxurious starships that don't really explore anything. In TOS, the Electronic Clipboard was just that; something you wrote on in place of a clipboard with paper. It didn't have any special functions beyond that, and the Clipboard didn't have a fancy and equally unnecessary acronym name like "PADD." That's just TNG. :techman:

Shatner gets dissed on here all the time...but Free Enterprise is the best movie when it comes to celebrating Trekdom...I wonder if THE BIG BANG producers saw that movie and created their show around it..
