"Kirk vs. The Borg" and "Picard vs. Khan"

Kirk wouldn't have hesitated to infect the Borg with the virus.

Picard would have talked Khan into a coma and then locked him up...or Khan kills Picard to shut him up.

Kirk would read the Declaration of Independence at the Borg and Picard gets all of Khan's literary references and makes peace to start a book club.

Kirk would talk the Borg into committing suicide, just as he did with Landru, Nomad, and the M5 computer.

Picard would invoke the 24th century version of the Prime Directive and leave the Botany Bay adrift in space where he found it.

That's easy to believe given he was ready to do essentially the same thing in TNG's first season. "The Neutral Zone" wasn't it?

God I hate that episode. I'd probably be rooting for Khan to succeed in stealing the damn ship.

Assuming FC still happened, Kirk would have set the ship to self destruct about an hour in. Or he would have seduced the Queen.

'Oh James, show me this earth action you call 'kissing''

Probably seduce the Queen.

Otherwise, how would he ever get back to his own time?

Picard would have raised his shields in TWOK

Kirk would definitely have seduced the Queen. Even in Q Who he would have sniffed her out.

If the Borg had assimilated Kirk? To quote George Takei...

"OHHHH MYYYYY!"

Kirk would have found a way to free all the drones, destroy the unimatrix, and (of course) suduce the Queen.

****

Khan: "Oh there have been technological improvments, but how little man has changed."

Picard: "How dare you !!!"

Kirk would not have asked Q for help, and he and the Enterprise would have been destroyed.

Picard would have recognized Khan immediately and left him frozen.

Knowing this, the writers cleverly made sure that it was Kirk vs. Khan and Picard vs. the Borg, for they make for better stories.

Buh-bye, now.

...actually, Kirk would have asked for help as well. You don't become a starship captain by being a fool.

PICARD: Data, search all historical records and determine who these people are.
DATA : They are a group of genetically enhanced humans who were exiled forever on charges of tyranny and mass murder.
PICARD: Set course for the nearest rehabilitation colony.
WESLEY: Don't you want to revive some of them, out of curiosity?
PICARD: Shut up, Wesley. We'll have these people safely contained before they are revived for their mandatory social readjustment.

I agree - If Wilber and Coon foresaw that putting Khan against Kirk was a better choice than Khan vs Picard, then they were certainly very clever fellows.

In fact, I'd go so far to say they were almost...clairvoyant;)

Assuming events in he Picard era Space Seed happened as it did for Kirk, Khan would wake up regardless of what they did, or die while waking up, and Beverly would not have let a man die in a failing cyro tube. Remember Kirk didn't wake u Khan or his people. Khan's tube woke him up, and Khan later beamed over to revive his people.

So would Beverly fall for Khan?
Would Picard be jealous?
Would Deanna Troy sense his evil intents?
Would Khan be able to fool her or get her out of the way?

Now I wonder: What if we trade Kirk for Sisko? How would Kirk handle being the emissary and deal with the prophets? Kirk in the Pale Moonlight? Kirk Far Beyond The Stars?

1) Khan does seem to like redheads.
2&3) Alas, that use of Troi's powers would be too damn useful and obvious. They'd hand wave it with 'I can't read him' or something.

I could see Kirk as a demigod Prophet baby - it would explain so much.
