Kirk. Patrick Stewart was the superior actor of the two but Picard's character was written so one dimensionally they wasted his talent.

Kirk is a far more believable captain and more believable as a flawed human being.

When dealing with Gods, rogue AIs or even the occasional diplomat/beauraucrat Kirk's signature move was to out think and out talk them.

Well to be fair, when you watch it on French TV they all have French accents. Cause they're speaking French.
