How is Kirk on a first name basis with nearly every Commodore seen in TOS all of them are clearly more seasoned and older but somehow this young Captain doesn't refer to them with any military courtesy save for Commodore Stone and Barstow.
They were all Captains when he was a Commander, and all Commanders when he was a LT. He's familiar with them, they are the previous generation that mentored him.
Just like he always INSISTS that his subordinate friends call him "Captain" or "sir". I mean McCoy and Spock NEVER called Kirk by his first name.So basically he should be calling them "Sir" or Commodore so and so and not be on a first name basis. An ensign should call a LTJG sir LTG should call a LT sir so on and so forth
You seem quite obsessed with "military courtesy". You don't seem to take into account that these men might be friends with personal connections and not walking rule books. Yeah he refers to Mendez and Wesley by their first names, but they also call him "Jim", not "Captain" or "Kirk". So it's clear the relationship is more than professional. In Decker's case, he's trying to reach a man who's in a state of shock. How is Kirk on a first name basis with nearly every Commodore seen in TOS all of them are clearly more seasoned and older but somehow this young Captain doesn't refer to them with any military courtesy save for Commodore Stone and Barstow.

Kirk bends the rules with friends. Lighten up, Francis.
I wonder if he calls him "Dad"?Kirk's a Starfleet brat. His dad might be a Commodore or something.
Kirk's father is deceased, according to the Writer's Guide in The Making of Star Trek.
He was alive when Kirk took command of the Enterprise, according to Spock Prime's memory in Star Trek '09.
Didn't you break out Lionel during the last thread about commodores too?
