It's not that you weren't eloquent, it's that this isn't really a discussion-starter. Threads are for discussion, and this is just kind of...not really anything. The General Trek Questions and Observations thread might be better suited for this sort of thing.

EDIT: Also you won't get very far being snarky with the mods. If you haven't already, you should peek at the forum rules. They're helpful when deciding on discussion topics and where they should go on the board.

Not Shakespeare, but Robert Bloch was a decent Fantasy/Thriller/Horror/Sci-Fi author.
It show the ideas that the TOS writers were throwing around.
"The Immunity Syndrome" has a gas-giant sized creature that is essentially unthinking, while "Catspaw" has tiny, totally alien beings that are intelligent, telepathic and extremely powerful.
Size is no arbiter of abilities or dangers.

You are welcome here, that's not the issue. The rules exist simply to give the forum structure and quality. Take a look at the vast array of discussions on this forum -- the range is not narrow. There just needs to be something to actually discuss.
