kira vs Ro Laren

I like both characters. Ro might have been great on DS9, but I'm quite happy with how things turned out with Kira. I think it was a good thing to have a Bajoran character who didn't reject her culture and traditions.

I think DS9 would have been better w/Ro than Kira. Ro was the perfect choice if they coulda solved her Maquis issues. I grew to like Kira but Ro could have been a show-stealer. It certainly, IMHO, would have made S1-S2 a little more interesting, and perhaps w/a little less emphasis on boring Bajoran religous themes.

Still, doubt if Ro could handle boarding Klingons, Jem' Hadar, ripped Carddy foot soldier, or any other bad guy wanting to spoil the day.
