Kira and Dukat

I don't think even physically. She was conditioned to find cardassians revolting.

But she found powerful men attractive. And Ibthink the reason Dukat almost suckered her into a mother-father kind of domestic fantasy with Ziyal is that some subconscious part of her was on board.

Also I heard at one point the writers were thinking about it and Visitor hated the idea.

I think in the period between sparing Ziyal and joining the Dominion, Kira was just starting to be slightly receptive to Dukat’s story of moral nuance and greys. And I think in that period there was physical chemistry.

The Kira-Dukat "ambiguity" began when Dukat caught her looking at him on a runabout during "The Maquis". That's when the Dukat character took on new dimensions.

He burned his bridges with Kira when the Cardassians joined the Dominion in season 5. She even vowed to kill him on sight.

My impression was that during that period she was slightly less hostile to Dukat that before or after. Meaning she might not shoot him on sight given half a chance.

Kira had nothing but utter contempt for Dukat, I am not questioning that.

But physical attraction is not a choice. The contempt was always going to outweigh the attraction. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t there.

There was a time where Nerys started to see Dukat as more than just the self-obsessed tyrant that he is, as anyone is...the greatest monster can still be not a monster sometimes. But the idea that she ever entertained the thought of being with Dukat is kind of insane. Nerys and Nana would both smash your kneecaps for saying so. ;)

But she found powerful men attractive.
Meaning what? That she was attracted to all powerful men? No.

And even if they were both unquestionably powerful, it still wouldn't mean that Nerys is automatically attracted to all powerful men.

Exactly! That the men she was attracted to were powerful does not imply she is attracted to all powerful men.

She's attracted to powerful Bajoran men. She worked alongside Ben Sisko, possibly the most powerful man in the sector (as both the Starfleet commander and the Emissary) but she never had any sort of romantic feelings for him.
