King of the Hill canceled

I really can't believe that they were still making new episodes.

I thought it had been canceled years ago.

Well I'm just inconsolable now. :(

13 seasons was a good run. It cheated death several times and FOX treated it like a red-headed stepchild. It was a great show and I know I'll miss it. I'll probably never get to be a guest voice now, and now I have no reason to watch FOX sunday nights.

So this is how the Arrested Development people feel?

Well, no, the Arrested Development people only got 3 seasons...

And the Firefly people only got 13 episodes...

And actually, FOX cancelled one of my favorite shows, The Critic, in order to make room for King of the Hill in the 1st place. FOX gave preferential treatment to King of the Hill because they made it themselves, so they would eventually be the ones to profit from syndication & video sales. The Critic was a Columbia show, so FOX had little interest in keeping it on the air.

Oh, and as to Arrested Development, I wasn't too broken up when it was cancelled because it was already clearly losing a step in Season 3, down from the unparalleled brilliance of Season 2.

I'm confused, how did they not have great ratings being (usually) sandwiched between The Simpsons and Family Guy?

As someone who tried to get into KOTH but couldn't, I'd just do something else between 8:30 and 9:00 pm--but I figured a lot of people would just watch it regardless (as did Fox I guess).

In any case, as a person who has had many beloved shows canceled on them, my condolences. Unfortunately, Fox seems to love canceling shows, it's kind of their thing.

Well, I watched all of "The Critic" and it was inferior to KotH.

But I'm surprised KotH even lasted 13 years. I would have pegged it for 10 at the most. I just hope notice this early gives them time to wrap it up as much as possible.

Good, my plot is working.

Next I need to brainwash Fox to bring back Futurama and cancel The Simpsons I will be all set...

All shows get canceled. I'd say 12 or 13 seasons is a pretty damn good run.

Anyway, I can't stand King of the Hill, but then I'm far from the target demo. I generally just do something else for that time slot, but it seems like they can't ever find a decent show to put in there, so I don't have high hopes for the replacement either.

The Critic got off lucky, you've seen how FOX treats their own stuff.

I'm afraid I am the target demo and I did the same thing. I've heard rumors that The Cleveland Show will be on between Simpsons and American Dad.

There are still loads and loads of episodes, if not several seasons I have yet to see. So, I'm sad that it's going, but consoled that I've still episodes to see.

I could never get into this show. I tried to sit through a few episodes, but it just never held my attention. To fans of the show, you have my sympathies. 13 years is a damn good run though.

Horrible show. thought it ended ages ago.. not sad to see it go.. sorry that you guys are tho :(

tbh i dotn see why it was ever popular was soooo meh.

It was never as brilliant as The Simpsons or South Park, but it was very enjoyable; I confess I haven't watched it in a good while.

Definitely a great run, though.
