Kim Cattrall as a Vulcan?

Oh yeah, I never even noticed that was the same chick. Anyway, never saw her in Sex and the City (or, pretty much anything else) but I liked the Valeris character well enough. Never noticed any odd line deliveries.

Any truth to the rumor that when the film wasn't shooting, Kim hung around the bridge set posing for naked pics, and that Nimoy ordered them all destroyed when he found out?

Dude no way. I wonder if she wore the wig and ears for the nudies? Dude that's sweet. That can't be true. Can it? No way that's true. She posed naked on the bridge? No way. You serious? I don't believe it. Why would Nimoy order nude pics of her destroyed? It doesn't even make sense.

I actually didn't mind her portrayal as much as her hair. There was just something about the way it was cut near her ears that always bothered me.

I have always hated her hair. She looked like a giant pixie; I kept looking at her feet to see if she had pointy shoes, too. I think I read somewhere that the hair was her idea?

I thought I read that the hair style was her idea to accentuate her ears.

Kind of. She described in an interview that I've read that she did a couple of things to counter some of her natural features a bit, giving her slightly more severe visual edge. She has a very "feminine" face, and she wanted to drop a few visual clues that things were not all as soft or nice as they appeared.

The hair was supposed to be a bit harsh looking, or off-putting. Apparently, it worked.

I understand that was her real hair, too, and not a wig. She went and had it dyed for the role. I guess that made the shoot more comfortable, anyway.

I'd heard some quick comments before about something going on between her and Nimoy, but never the story. Now I want to know, dammit! Sheesh. :p

She was a pretty good Vulcan. I don't think she acted like a perfect Vulcan, but her character was supposed to be flawed since she had the gall to be a part of that plot. She was better than Kirstie Alley at any rate.

I just finished watching The Undiscovered Country and was just wondering if I'm alone in thinking she was a horrible Vulcan? She has this stupid smirk on her face at all times and it really annoyed me, and almost ruined the character (even though she was already a bitch)

Opinions?

I thought she was a great Vulcan. I thought maybe she was the way she was because they were trying to add humor to the film.

I fail to see why her stupid smirk would get any laughs or add to any humor to the film.

I don't think Nimoy would be to annoyed about it now, seeing as he is now into taking photographs of old women...

Oh that was low, I'm sorry kim.:p

Maybe so, but she's still 10x hotter than old horse face, SJP. Yuk! Just have to file off that Milk Dud.

I liked Valeris, though it was so obvious she was the traitor from the get go.

GEEZ...How about a spoiler warning next time?

You're kidding, right? Right? Please say "right", please?

I wouldn't joke about something so serious. In fact, I would like to request that all threads that discuss any plot points in any of the films (after TWOK) be titled as containing spoilers. At least until next week. It is my birthday next sunday, and hopefully I will get some Trek DVD's to catch up on all these little details.

Of course, I guess I don't have to bother with TUC. Now that I know Valeris (whoever that is) is the traitor.

^^Still not sure if you're joking.

You're a Trek fan but your passing up seeing one of the movies you never seen because you know one of the plot points on a 17 year old release.

Some folks might think that's taking the 'spoiler alert' theory to absurd lengths.

Spoiler etiquette in the sci-fi/fantasy forums is generally a year, so there's nothing under the purview of this forum that needs to be protected by spoiler warnings anymore.

In further news, Rosebud was the sled, Vader was Luke's father, Verbal Kint is Keyser Soze, and Frodo lives. :techman:

I figured as much, but you never know. I went to college with a girl who refused to see the Star Wars movies until after Episode III came out so she could watch them in chronological order from Phantom Menace to Return of the Jedi.
