I think that's a good point!

(Seriously, how many pages did we spend in that one thread arguing about her line delivery? How ever many it was, it was far too many.)
Still, it was nothing compared to the threads asking if her chest was a rubber insert instead.(Seriously, how many pages did we spend in that one thread arguing about her line delivery? How ever many it was, it was far too many.)
She did seem a bit smug, but then again, this is still TOS-era Trek, back when Vulcans had personalities despite their love of supreme logic.![]()
I liked Valeris, though it was so obvious she was the traitor from the get go.

And not just any movie. A Star Trek movie. How many people obsessive enough to post on the board haven't seen all ten at least once?^ Seriously? For a movie from 1991?
I'd love to read that thread![]()

when being mind-probed by Spock
Spock was in the movie too!?!? But he died in part 2! (the last one I saw, I've been meaning to catch up)
No, there was a thread (pruned, as best I can tell) where we went around in circles for several pages about Cattrall's delivery of the "Thrusters only while in spacedock" line. And it did balloon to proportions as ridiculous as those of the "Nanclus/and others" debate.Different line, though. And I doubt this thread would balloon to those proportions. Basically, in the original theatrical cut and pre-DE releases of the film, does Valeris, when being mind-probed by Spock and is naming the traitors, name 'Ambassador Nanclus' or does she say 'and others?'
Clearly, it's the former.![]()

I don't want to get into this, really, but the delivery is goofy. Probably should've been written "only thrusters" instead of "thrusters only." The emphasis she uses sounds silly. Either way, it wasn't a big enough deal for it to ruin the character. No, there was a thread (pruned, as best I can tell) where we went around in circles for several pages about Cattrall's delivery of the "Thrusters only while in spacedock" line. Um, wow. For the record, I think Cattrall's line reading of "thrusters only" makes sense: Thrusters only, nothing else is allowed. I'm not inclined to restate my opinion a dozen times, though, I've learned my lesson.
