I thought about it for a while, and in the end I decided that the Eugenics Wars work better as taking place after the current situation with the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. And with the design of the DY-100, it seems more logical to have it being operational in the mid-21st century, possibly as a successor to the Charybdis. Berndt Scheider would agree.
