No - we haven't had STAR TREK on TV since 1969 - and in 1987 we started to get GR's revisionist (aka I'm an old man and can't use my casting couch anymore) 'old man' TNG version of Trek (if you really want to be technical.)

To me, Enterprise has sort of a submarine/early space program style that's very clunky at least in comparison to the TNG era. It's designed to look like it's purely functional without much regard for aesthetics. Add to that various elements that are clear precursors to what was in TOS .

Pinch zones and all with lifts--I can see a line drawing of the NX-01 in Sternbach's Chronology if it were ever redone--I can see it pre-TOS now.

Doh! - Yeah, I guess my sarcasm detector was on the fritz. Although I have to say, after TNG season one and 7 Seasons a VOY - the 'turd' season of TOS is MUCH LESS of a 'turd' season for me.

The third season of TOS wasn't ALL bad. I can count 7-8 episodes that I really enjoyed, which is about 30% of the season. "Requiem for Methuselah" and "Spectre of the Gun are a couple of my favorites.

Why? It's an alternate timeline and has no bearing on DSC unless there's a quantum tunneling slipstream effect through a tachyon field.

I am in no way convinced this is true. I still believe the point of divergence was well before the Nero even arrived - back to the events of Star Trek: First Contact in 2063, perhaps - and that Star Trek: Enterprise actually took place in the nuVerse. I'll admit that there's nothing in canon that fully supports my position - but there's also nothing that definitively contradicts it.

None of which negates that this new show is stated as meant to depict events in the Prime universe. I will accept that as correct unless/until actual events depicted (not just effects, but actual events) seem to me to contradict it.
