Keep George Clayton Johnson in Your Thoughts

The novel Logan's Run is one of my all time favorites.

Meu desejo é que você vai com Deus.

Best Outcome to the creative talent that contributed to my imagination and visualization of what is possible, and what can happen when we get what we "see".

"You see. No shock. No engulfment. No tearing asunder. What you feared would come like an explosion is like a whisper. What you thought was the end is the beginning."

THE TWILIGHT ZONE: "Nothing in the Dark" by George Clayton Johnson.

Would a Moderator please change the title of this thread to something like RIP George Clayton Johnson (1929-2015)?

Thanks.

I so love this episode.

Re: RIP George Clayton Johnson (1929-2015)

Twilight Zone and Logan's Run and Star Trek.

RIP Mr. Johnson.....you've had a long life and seen a lot of sci-fi shows pass through the years.

An update: I apologize for updating this thread to reflect Mr. Johnson's death. The obits put out by Variety and other news sources were in error. According to his son, GCJ is still clinging to life as of early morning, 12-24-15. Paul Johnson has said that he will update family, friends, and fans via his FB page, or that of author Jason V. Brock.

Sir Rhosis

Paul Johnson has confirmed that George Clayton Johnson passed away today.

Paul writes:

My Father, George Clayton Johnson, passed away this Christmas day at 12:46 p.s.t. He was more than a renowned writer, fan & hemp legalization advocate, he was a ...truly loving father & husband. His wife, Lola Johnson, daughter, Judy Olive & I, his son, Paul B. Johnson mourn his loss. The outpouring of love from all of you has sustained us during this difficult time. In around 30 days I'll post the info on a "lifetime celebration" party that we'll hold in his memory. If all my friends who see this post will repost it to their friends, word will get out faster & I would be most appreciative. He loved his family, friends, but he had a special place in his heart for all of his fans, who sustained him & gave him a forum to share thoughts at a million miles a second. He had a blazingly fast mind & many of you were blessed to experience that, for he spoke to you without the presumption of celebrity, but as equals sharing thoughts. He was a child of the great depression, where everyone was equal. He was the child of Charles Edward Johnson & Laura Mae Duke. He had several brothers & sisters, of which he was the second oldest. He's survived by one half-sister & many loving nieces & nephews. I loved him so & my heart is broken for he was my beacon. GOD bless you all. He loved you & he always will. Peace on earth, goodwill to man. God damn it! Let's have peace & love on earth. We're one lost & broken family & we need that truth to sink in. Love is the answer (and you know that, for sure). Dad understood some truths deeply....understanding, tolerance & love, and above all, we're all the same and should be cared for as human beings...no homeless...no hunger, but charity for all. Make it so. Sincerely, his proud son, Paul.

And his "The Man Trap" was what hooked me (and a lot of other people back in 1966!) into a lifetime of Sci-Fi fandom..

Requiescat In Pace Mr. Johnson, you are remembered.

RIP, sir. Your talent survives you. You intrigued a generation and more, piquing our curiosity about what was possible, what could be beyond our knowledge. For that, we are eternally indebted.
