Anybody else here love Karl Urban as McCoy? I am desperately hoping that his role is increased in the next Star Trek film.

It' s Karl's Birthday today (June 7) too! :techman:

here's Karl at Wizard World Portland not long ago. He talks a little about Star Trek Beyond and Simon writing it at about 4 minutes in....

And in both not used nearly enough! :) I saw him first on Xena years ago. LOL

Btw, it was tweeted yesterday that he had to pull out of the Chicago Trek con this coming weekend due to filming (tho it didn't say what, one can only assume its filming/getting ready to film Star Trek Beyond). I'm hoping based on him getting started right at the beginning of production and not coming in later means he might have more to do this time. *fingers crossed*

Stood literally ten inches from him while he spoke to a woman at Destination Trek in London. I basically just got right up in his grill and stared at him. I suspect he felt my eyes burning into his skin.

Handsome devil to be sure.

He's handsome and a good actor (a nice guy too, from his interviews. But really the whole cast seems to be made of down to earth people)
My only wish is that he'd get the chance to play his own Mccoy more. He makes a good impersonation of the old one but now I want to see where his character is different from the other due to this being another reality.

Loved him in Bourne, LoTR, nuTrek, Riddick, and hope to see him more in nuTrek Beyond!

Yup, I do like Urban's work. "Almost Human" is a TV series that should never have been cancelled, and I thought he made a great Judge Dredd. Would certainly enjoyed seeing him carry on in both roles. Lastly, I'm interested in seeing how McCoy progresses in the next film.

Positively polite compared to the drooling stare I gave Jeri Ryan.

I enjoyed "Almost Human" but then I also enjoyed "Forever" so what do I know.

Hux for some reason I'm picturing Brainy from Hey Arnold.

I agree, I do wish they do more than 3 because there hasn't been nearly enough McCoy or the main triumvirate of Spock-Kirk-McCoy so far and I feel like now that they've solidly set down the basis for the Kirk-Spock friendship they should have time to explore the other characters more. Also, Pike was sort of standing in McCoy's place as adviser for the first 2 and I think with him dead that should mean more time for McCoy to do that. So fingers crossed.

He is a good choice for Bones and I hope is role in the next film is bigger. I loved his introduction in ST09.
