Funny thing is, you probably hear "Beam Me Up, Scotty" more than you hear "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
You know, that guy that shows up at the sporting events with the "John 3:16" sign hasn't figured out how to do it in outer space.
Yet.
I am back-handedly complimented that my opinion about the Franchise has caused so much discussion, and one surprising comment from
iguana_tonante took me back a bit.
Please let me clarify: when I talked about language and usage and ownership, I was referring to how often the language of Star Trek is used and how much of it has come into our lexicon. How well it's images and equipment are known. There are any number of references and courses and symposia on Star Trek and its Effect. Hell, I just got the book "Hamlet in Klingon" for Christmas. For years, there was a place in the State of Minnesota in the US that held a two week immersion course in Klingon.
My feelings and opinion, I believe, have a place here. My belief in the Influence on Star Trek do, also. What I do not understand, however, is the seeming ridicule and bitterness and almost mean reaction some of you have. But that is ok, because I would continue to "...defend to the death your right to say it."
Well, maybe not to the death.
They were correct, the TNZ is NOT for the faint of heart, but I will continue to try to post well!
