Saw it today; found it a bit boring and predictable, but nearly as tedious as BvsS. I liked seeing the return of Superman--would've liked to have seen more of it, but it is what it is. So, it was OK but not one I'd want to watch again. I liked Wonder Woman (wish she had more to do here) and the "sidekick heroes" of Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg, but Affleck's Bathman was dull as dishwater. I gave it a B+.

I just got back from seeing it. That was an incredibly generic superhero movie that left no impact on me whatsoever. If the Neutral People from Futurama were to make a superhero movie, this is the movie that they would make. However, despite not really enjoying Justice League, I think the movie did a good job laying a solid foundation for the DCEU and I'm excited to see what comes next. Bring on Aquaman!

I'll go with a C+

Repeating this lie over and over again doesn't make it true.

Truth hurts, don't it?

Well let's see....Logan tore it up at the box office

It was Jackman's Swan Song, audience goers and critics knew this and wanted to give his last go a kid's gloves treatment.

Look we get it. You hate the DC universe and think every comic book adaption should be like Ragnorak.

No, I just think the DCEU is pretty incompetently made aside from WW. And even in her case her movie was treated lightly by people who didn't want to be labeled Misogynists after the Ghostbusters debacle.

Just don't try to pass off your opinions as fact because you look ridiculous doing so.

Someone's gotta stick it to the pretentious folk.

Only if it’s, well, actually true. Not really the case here.

Or it was a rather good movie. Occam’s Razor and all.

Again. Occam’s Razor.

Pretentious is repeatedly asserting people don’t mean what they say and, instead, telling them what they really meant to say as if the secret to such meanings resided in the minds of the select few. You’ll easily spot such pretention the next time you look in a mirror.

Yeah, I'm pretty much done wasting my time with him. He ignores facts while spouting the same ignorant nonsense over and over.

If Ledger hadn't died, the Dark Knight wouldn't have been as well received as it was. Nearly 10 years later and people still having trouble accepting.

Or it was a rather good movie. Occam’s Razor and all.

Beh, it had a thin plot and casually killed off everyone else in a contrivance to get Logan on his own with Xavier so they too could predictably die as well. Just had buckets of blood and gore to substitute plot with.

Again. Occam’s Razor.

The Weinstein scandal is just making it worse, with Hollywood desperate to prove they aren't all misogynists.

Pretentious is

Having characters stop the plot to give pompous speeches, like what DC churns out. Mainly because they forgot "Show, don't tell".

Anyways back to reality...

My thoughts on the movie is it brought some much needed levity to the DCEU while not sacrificing the integrity of what was already established. I wouldn't have minded a little more length to help broaden the characters bit I'm sure the "extended cut" will be released in six months . Also, I REALLY MISS the days when heroes had an identifiable theme. Superman had one of the best ones ever created by one of the best composers of all time and for reasons past understanding it hasn't been used in the DCEU. Not sure if the people composing these superhero movies today are being told to score them that way or they lack the creativity that people like John Williams had.

They did use it in the DCEU, however briefly. Elfman quoted it in JL.

@Anwar -- Dude. Give it a rest. There have been tornados that have gone 'round and 'round less times than this argument. And I say this as someone who is as someone is just as big (and just as proud) of an MCU fanboy as you are.

For the record, while I do agree with much of what you say about the DCEU, there is also much that is just pure fanboyism. As a Marvel fanboy I will happily declare The Dark Knight an epic classic of the superhero movie genre. I will also declare the trilogy as a whole as having a very solid and entertaining start, followed by an epic piece of work and capped off with a below par finale, but that's an argument for another place.

Guess what? I also agree with much of what the critics say about Marvel movies. In general-- bland villains, forgettable scores and a formula that is danger of growing stale. It's the arguments that Marvel makes "kiddie" movie while DC makes "mature" movies or that Marvel movies have too much humor* that make me roll my eyes so hard that I get a migrane.

In short, you've said your piece. We all know where you stand on the issue. It's time to either move on start your own thread. You're just dragging this thread down.

* There are no absolutes. While I had no problem with the much-needed change of pace in Ragnarok, there were a few times where I rolled my eyes and said, "really?"

The Superman March from 1978? Which scene was that? I'll keep an eye out for it next time.
There's a short section of it just after Kal is resurrected. (When Diana says, "He's back.") Don't expect much though. :)

The Elfman Bat-theme gets a bigger workout than the Williams Superman one.

How I would have done it.....

Steppenwolf arrives on Earth in modern day.

Gets into some crazy "who's on first" argument with an old hippy, because Steppenwolf doesn't know why this dead man thinks that he is a band.

After the truth finally dawns on Steppenwolf, he picks up his axe and decides to murder the band Steppenwolf for taking his name... But here's the thing, on the way to murder these Canucks, Steppenwolf listens to Magic Carpet Ride so many times, that he decides that he loves these guys, and he joins their tour as a roadie, and then the final hour and half of the move is just a live concert of Steppenwolf the band with Steppenwolf the new god rocking out in the mosh pit by the main stage.

The End.

You need a cameo of Zefram Cochrane in the crowd to tie it into the wider cinematic universe ;)

So I'm thinking a final gross of around $650-700 worldwide? We spent all that time arguing about Thor Ragnarok vs Justice League, but the true battle is between Justice League and Doctor Strange ($677 million worldwide).

This reminds me so much of Batman Forever. A threequel (after MoS and BvS) taken in a different direction, with mixed results.
