No way in hell is an Aquaman movie out grossing Justice League. Aquaman is not Wonder Woman.
Assuming standard legs for a superhero movie, Justice League is looking at about $225-250 million domestic. That's right where Doctor Strange landed ($232 million). Outgrossing Justice League isn't a high bar; it just means doing a little better than Doctor Strange. Aquaman can beat a wizard.

I think DC needs to step back and focus on making good solo movies. Build a good solid foundation before they attempt Justice League 2. Darkseid can wait.

The post-credits scene suggests that's exactly what they're doing.
The JL2 tease isn't against Darkseid, it's against the Injustice League, it seems the general plan is to build up a roster of heroes and villains and have them duke it out in JL2 sometime in the future.

Saw it last night, oh boy, I thought I might find it to be okayish... nope. Worst movie I saw at the theater in a long time, the thing is a mess in every way. You don't even get cool effects or 'splosions because it looks so damn cheap and ugly, like a videogame cutscene from the late 90's. And why did almost every scene have to be filmed in front of greenscreen? People talking in an office or a basement, WTF?
(Oh and yes, the Marvel check cleared...)

There is no guarantee that Aquaman will actually be released, which is a sad and depressing state of affairs for those of us who made up our own minds about the DCEU instead of letting the "critics" kill things for us.

So after the big war with Steppenwolf millennia ago they split up the Mother Boxes among the three "tribes" who fought. (The Amazonians, The Atlantians and the Humans.)

The Amazonians put it and stone chamber and have it constantly guarded on an island that's hidden from the rest of the world.

The Atlantians put it in sort of a vault-like chamber that's guarded at the bottom of the ocean.

The humans just buried there's somewhere in the forest.

They already shot the whole thing, it will be released.

The next three films in line are easier sells, they've got Aquaman, helmed by a popular director and with an underwater angle, Shazam! will probably be a lower budget kid friendly movie, and a Wonder Woman sequel.
They've also got over a year till the next one releases to change the media narrative and get their shit together for future installments after that.

DC isn't going anywhere.

I've paid to see three DCEU movies in theaters, and didn't much like any of them. I gave them a fair shot, and they failed.

Somebody didn't see JL...
Not until it costs a buck-fifty at Redbox, no. And since this is a spoiler thread, by all means, spoil away.

CinemaBlend: "Bruce Wayne and Diana find themselves on opposite sides of the topic. The pair gets into it, leading to Wayne being critical of Wonder Woman for her self-imposed exile. He wonders why he'd never heard of the powerful demi-god until a random photo happened to surface. It's clear he thinks Diana could have been a major force for good for the last hundred years if she'd been willing."

Sure sounds like the "missing Diana" narrative of BvS to moi - even if she was secretly doing heroic work in the shadows the whole time (which would still be a BvS retcon, but never mind).

^ A clarification of what was actually going on and dismissal of what fans thought was going on - which is what both Wonder Woman and Justice League offer in relation to Diana's statements in BvS - is not a retcon.

Listening to people go on about how this film is a flop and WB are going to have to shelve or at least re-jig the whole DCEU concept, remind me of the commentators at the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix a few weeks ago warning that Sebastian Vettel was not out of the running for the title with five races to go even though Lewis Hamilton (the eventual title winner) had just increased his lead over Vettel by a further six points to 34 points because he 'only' finished second instead of winning that race. I'm not saying JL will do Dark Knight numbers, but word of mouth for the most part about this film seems to contradict the critics and is favourable. What I'm saying is that I don't think this won't be the disaster you all think it will be. Now maybe I'll be proven wrong on this, but this stuff about films not getting released and soft reboots with recasted roles just seems to be throwing the baby out with the bathwater stuff. Lets see how things go over the next week or so.

True, but I doubt it will be enough to overcome the cloud of overwhelmingly negative press to get butts in seats.

I do suspect by the time this gets to home video release there'll be a lot of "well that wasn't so bad" posts here ;)

Films being completed and unreleased is more common than you seem to think it is.

Under these circumstances it is extraordinarily rare and therefore very unlikely. Would you be able to cite three equivalent examples in the last ten years?

She says she always fought when she was needed, but was unwilling to step into the spotlight and lead for fear of getting people that followed her killed, like Steve.
So - to take but one example - even holding a press conference decrying the US' horrific involvement in the Vietnam War wouldn't have been worth it, on the off chance that another hunky white lover of hers might be hurt? Better to let thousands of Vietnamese civilians be bombed to cinders? You're not helping your case here, Diana.

"This job... We try to save as many people as we can. Sometimes that doesn't mean everybody. But if we can't find a way to live with that, next time, maybe nobody gets saved." - Steve Rogers, Captain America: Civil War

It was an enjoyable 2 hours but it was nothing special. The soundtrack was weak. Flash and Aquaman were awesome. Superman's return was a bit of a non-event, although I loved his angry-from-nap phase.

It's nowhere near as bad as people are making out. Go watch Batman and Robin, all of you.

Yeah, because '60s politicians were renowned for listening to women's opinions on world affairs.

^ American women gained the vote in WWI, and a large portion of American males were opposed to the Vietnam War. Even mobilizing a significant proportion of female opinion and votes under the leadership of a captivating, charismatic goddess could easily have ended the war far sooner. Like I said, per BvS, she apparently futzed off for a century. Even the public appearance of Superman didn't draw her out for a full year - and even then, it took the badgering of a man.

I just saw it. Give it a solid B-. It wasn't great by any means, but it didn't make me angry like bvs did. It still lacked a proper flow between the scenes, but it wasn't confusingly edited together like bvs and I was happy I could see what was happening and it wasn't too dark. I did wish it was longer.

Audience was nearly 85% full at lunch showing, and the crowd applauded during the credits.

So can we have some non-conspiracy theories on the disconnect with critics? I just can't, for the life of me, see how people can say this was a terrible movie. It was "fine".
