News Justice League Dark among three JJ Abrams-produced series for HBO Max

And when it comes to what the moderators say, they're not going to be saying anything about the status of the service until DC makes an official announcement. With this kind of stuff the lower level people always act like it's business as usual until the higher ups make the big announcement, then they're tune will suddenly change.
I don't think they're even acting like it's business as usual. They legitimately do not know anything beyond the party line. The lower level people are never kept in the loop on stuff like this.

Speaking of Swamp Thing, they were not very forthcoming about what happened with that one.

It was cancelled because the production spent all of its budget on location shooting and Derek Mears' costume, and there wasn't any external streaming partnership(s) to offset the expense.

At the time they were covering up that it had been canceled. Virginia Madsen posted on Twitter with #saveswampthing and later deleted it and posted to her personal website. The producers continued to post join us next week things as if nothing happened without mentioning the fate of the series which came out in the press instead. There were articles about a screwup with tax credits which later seemed to not be the full story and so on.

It seems the cast themselves were not told why it happened.

Maybe they’re saying something now after the fact but I know it was confusing at the time. Just saying it’s not unprecedented for them to keep mum while it’s in their favor.

The Moderators of DC Universe's community get their information directly from the service's corporate offices, and so my question persists.
They're probably unpaid interns if they have any official title at all. Moderating isn't really exciting work and message boards are pretty far down on the list of concerns for a PR department. This is like claiming your uncle worked at Nintendo when he stocked the game section of a store.

….yep.

I think the fact that they're having to get help from other places, like HBO Max or The CW is a pretty bad sign. If it's not even making enough money to support it's own original content, then I really have to wonder how much life it has in it.

That maybe, but it is the main draw, and if even that isn't enough of a draw to bring in enough money to support them, that's not a good sign.

On the pure production side of things, DC Universe doesn't have the budget to finance projects that are the scale of Doom Patrol and Stargirl, so sharing those shows with HBO Max and The CW, respectively, is a way to offset the costs and allow said series to actually get made.

What if and i'm being serious here The Swamp Thing had a human form( Young actor in his 20's)? That would cut costs right?

Once they're able to stave off cancellation and they secure a budget then the Swamp thing can revert from human to swamp thing from time to time

It might not be true to comics but at least it's not cancelled

I'm of the right generation that the thought that immediately pops into my head is an image of the guy touching his fists together and calling, "Swamp Thing ring, do your thing!"

DC Universe might continue at a cheaper price as just a comic book service. No chance in hell it will last over a year more in its current iteration though. And it's existence as a community is irrelevant. Nobody pays for an online community, this isn't 1994.
