News Justice League Dark among three JJ Abrams-produced series for HBO Max

How do statements directly from DC Universe itself - delivered and disseminated to its online community through the Moderators of said community - not constitute a "concrete source"?
They haven’t made an official statement and you’re not involved with the productions. Moderators on a website are not studio producers. Hope this helps.

The Moderators of DC Universe's community get their information directly from the service's corporate offices, and so my question persists.

The Moderators of DC Universe's online community are "inside sources" .

Whether or not you believe my comments about the first-hand information they disseminate does not change that fact.

Either way, I'm done with this pointless argument.

As long as the Moderators are actually getting their information directly from DC itself, rather than being random members of the site, then that's good enough for me.:techman:
I'm not really that interested in the community aspects though, so if the shows are going to end up eventually all being available on HBO Max and/or The CW, then I'm not sure if the app is going to be worth it for me.

^ I don't always keep my paid membership with DC Universe active, but I stay do active in the Community forums because I like the atmosphere and like knowing what's going on with the service even when I'm not using its paid features.

It also has a lot of content that can't be found anywhere else for the price that paid membership costs, even beyond its Original streaming series, so for me, it's worth it and does offer something unique that you can't get anywhere else.

Oh, yeah if things like the DCAU cartoons, and the '90s Flash and '80s Superboy don't show up on HBO Max that might still be enough to get me to sign up. I've been thinking changing up the streaming services I subscribe to, and DCU is one I've been thinking about.

Obviously DC is gonna keep telling their Moderators that the service will keep going, they don't want to lose subs and revenue. They'll keep toeing the party line right up until the official announcement that's it's gonna be shut down.

The Swamp Thing series hasn't appeared anywhere outside of the streaming service it seems--I wonder if the JLD will connect with that show at all?

This is not how business works.

Good point, they're going to want to keep people spending money on it.

If DC Universe were going to be shut down, Warner Media would not continue pumping content into it, and its current subscriber base would be made aware that it was being shut down by the community Moderators.

I know this because there has been and continues to be complete transparency on the part of said Moderators with regards to the service, its content, and operational structure.

Except like I said before, the two of the next shows we have coming to it, Stargirl and Doom Patrol Season 2, are both going to be shared with other content providers, The CW and HBO Max respectively. If they were really that confident in it, you'd think all of the content would continue to be exclusive to it. And I still find it a bit suspicious that we've gotten annoucements for 2 DC shows coming to HBO Max, and haven't heard about any more new shows coming to DCU.
And when it comes to what the moderators say, they're not going to be saying anything about the status of the service until DC makes an official announcement. With this kind of stuff the lower level people always act like it's business as usual until the higher ups make the big announcement, then they're tune will suddenly change.

On the pure production side of things, DC Universe doesn't have the budget to finance projects that are the scale of Doom Patrol and Stargirl, so sharing those shows with HBO Max and The CW, respectively, is a way to offset the costs and allow said series to actually get made.

The Swamp Thing series that got cancelled completely ran out of money and didn't have any other broadcast partner entity willing or able to front cash that could've allowed it to continue.

Also, DC Universe's community Moderators have revealed news items/pertinent information before the public at large learned about said news items/pertinent information, so the notion that said Moderators would continue to act as if everything was business as usual until a public statement was made regarding DC Universe's status is a false one.
