Hi, thanks everyone who advised me on how to get Trek Books, I asked my book store and it turns out they can get the books at rrp within a week, I have therefore Ordered These Haunted Seas, the DS9 book, for when I finish the Avatar -horn and Ivory omnibus , and also because it looked interesting I got Destiny book 1, anyone have any opinions on these books?

Looks like you picked up some of the very best of Trek Lit. Good Job. The only way you could have made that list better would be to add the Vanguard books and Articles of the Federation. :techman:

You should really enjoy all of those. I would recommend though, that when you start Destiny 1 you have the other two volumes waiting in the wings, because you'll want to move right ahead with no waiting.

Oh boy, is THIS the truth. I took so long to catch up that I had all three waiting and whipped through those suckers in just under 61 hours. (Not to worry about cost vs. time problems, though - I'm sure I'll be re-reading them at least once or twice before the end of the year. Mack and Bennett are just about the only Trek novelists I'm ever that interested in revisiting much, but both have proven quite rewarding on repeat visits.)

You've made some great choices. The Destiny trilogy is awsome, and IMO it's a great way to go in order to get a feel for what modern Trek Lit is like. And LS is right about Vanguard and Articles, you really should check them out too.

Agreed. I read the first two in one sitting and had to wait almost a week for the third one. I've sense reread all three and am awaiting on my copy of A Singular Destiny now!
