just need some advice

Ok, so this is a website I made back in highschool for a graduation project.

I haven't done anything to it... well... since then actually, and I would like some advice as to what I should do to update its look and feel.

It's been a while since I've done any web design, so I'm a little rusty. Although I did just recently download dreamweaver cs3, so atleast I'm up to date on that aspect. Any comments are welcome, but keep in mind this site hasn't changed in 5 years.

Create a drop-down menu (like TrekBBS has,) to take a visitor to the specific areas of interest & get rid of the difficult-to-view navigation black bar at the top of this version. Locate the drop-down menu right under your logo. I like the grid background on this. Not bad for a novice effort. But, black text on a solid cream-colored background on your introduction page would make it easier to view. Don't explain the sections on the first page, let each section explain itself. A small, discrete hit counter is nice but optional. "Sign Guestbook" would be nice, too as one option on your drop-down menu.
