Just How Bad is S2E15 "Threshold?"

The point was that Paris was hyper-evolving, yes? Evolution isn't pre-programmed, it's reaction to the environment. And Tom's environment at the time the evolution was triggered was bizarro infinite warp, existing supposedly everywhere and nowhere at once.

So it pretty much opens the door to *anything* they want.

yup. And in this case they thought it would be interesting to show things in a full circle 'return to whence we came'. In this case, not Adam and eve the biblical route, nor the primate theory but amphibious one.

This episode always slightly reminds me of the weird stuff they wrote in TAS. Maybe they should've transformed Paris into a giant or something. Turning Paris into a salamander or a lizard is the kind of thing they'd do in that series.

You mean like the TAS episode where there is a giant Spock. That one was hilarious.:D
