I voted "Trekkie", but I find I respond to "Trek Fan", "Trek Geek" & once the term "pathetic" was used

...but I think that was just because I got so giddy & excited because H&I's "All Star Trek" line up one particular night consisting of episodes I absolutely love. So good in fact that I actually put it into my calendar & scheduled other plans (including work) around it!

I went with Trekkie. At one point people didn’t like Trekkie because it had the connotation of unhealthy obsession and social ineptness but that’s not the case anymore.

No, it's worse.

srsly, I hesitate to use any terms other than Trek fan. I mean I don't cosplay or go to cons or speak Klingon or anything like that. So why make things more complicated than they are...

At least in my experience, being interested in Star Trek doesn't have as strong an inherent connotation of being so obsessed with it you're disconnected from reality.

Hey! There's nothing wrong with learning a bit of Klingon! I only know one insult, used said phrase on a horrid ex-coworker & she was stymied. How do you come back to someone who sounds like they've channeled V. I. Lenin while coughing up some phlegm?

‪‪I don’t really care which term is used at this point, but for most of my life I’ve thought of myself as a Trekker.

That was only because I watched the Star Trek 25th Anniversary Special when I was eight years old, and Spock told me it was the preferred term .
