So given that all of my entries will be relatively simple photoshops I'm going to rely on quantity over quality for this month's contest. The theme is what if Gene worked with another famous artist or author to create Trek and I chose Tom Clancy.
Not that I've even read one Clancy novel, but I have a gist of what he's about and I have always been interested in a very detail-heavy nuts and bolts interpretation of the Trek mythos...so what if Clancy guided Gene to take a more political and militaristic view of the Star Trek universe? What if, instead of writing about real world politics and military, Clancy himself wrote about Star Trek politics and militaries?
These questions and more I will seek to answer in my humble entries to this month's art contest. I'll be riffing a lot on covers from Clancy's novels and derivative works, so bear with me. If anyone has any suggestions about how to move the concept deeper still I'd appreciate them.
