July Art Challenge - Starscape

[Starscape]

I've had an idea for a small TOS-era shuttle for some time. So this challenge gives me an excuse to flesh out the design.

Here's my first run at the general layout:

I guess my size analogy would be that if the Galileo is a "people carrier" (mini-van) then this would be the "hatchback" equivalent.

Hopefully, I'll manage to render this in 3D over the next few weeks.

Well, I'll see what I can do...

I've tweaked the initial design a touch. It's a little longer and should have some more head-room inside.

Here it is to scale, alongside the Galileo:

I don't know if I'll finish this in time for the end of the month, but I've got the main body of the shuttle built in 3D, now:

Hmm, I kind of like the look of it without nacelles...

Thanks BK613, that's what I was aiming for, though perhaps it isn't the most interesting of choices.

It's looking unlikely that I'll get this finished in time to submit an entry this month, but I'm going to keep going whatever.
