Julian/Jadzia

Regardless of him being a creep, they just didn’t seem compatible. He was a little too lighthearted for Dax. She was a complex person. He didn’t seem like he had a ton of relationship experience and she had memories from like five marriages.

She needed someone strong minded like Worf that could handle her, reel her in a little.

I feel that Worf was incompatible with Jadzia though. She was more compatible with Julian I saw more chemistry in some episodes. Yes they were good friends but if the writers for the show had thought better then they could have created something romantic for both of them!

When DS9 started, Julian was a child. He wanted to have fun and breeze through things. Jadzia was an adult. She still knew how to have fun, but she was experienced and more mature.

If season 1 Julian was more like season 7 Julian, a romance would have made more sense. Truly, I don't think that season 1 Julian would have had the first clue how to handle a woman like Jadzia. I am imagining a funny episode of him trying. I think that Worf and Jadzia complimented each other better than Ja/ Ju could've.

He was like Jadzia. He just wasn’t like Dax.

It is an expression, maybe an American one.

It is used when people feel extremely passionately about something and will defend their stance until the end. It was also meant to be a bit of a joke.

That is not true, I am just stating what I think would have worked. I do agree with the fact that if Julian was like how he was in Season 7 during the first few seasons then It would make more sense for Julian and Jadzia to fall in love. But the problem is like with every single crush is Julian likes Jadzia, Jadzia only thinks of him as a friend which is not a good start.

I guess you mean Julian was like Jadzia and Worf was like Dax because of Curzon Dax.

Essentially yup. It’s pretty much what was shown on screen. They establish Jadzia is the scientist, the a academic genius, because she had to be to qualify for joining. In this regard she’s very much like Bashir, and we see that throughout I think. The fact Bashir gets on with Worf and is applying his knowledge to his and Jadzias planned family with his usual gusto, really shows how non-creepy the relationship is. Worf is also jealous of Bashir to an extent, but also accepting of him because of the relationship with Jadzia. It’s no good just having his early season wet behind the ears disguise persona chasing Dax as a way to judge his behaviour.

Why would Worf be jealous of Julian's relationship with Jadzia?

He was. As to why? I dunno. Younger model. Science in common. Pre existing friendship? We know it was ‘almost’ him. For all we know, Dax cried out his name at an inoppurtune moment, and styled it out by pointing out she was going to need a dermal regenerator afterwards.

What do you mean by it was "almost him?"

It’s a line of Ezri I think. Something like ‘if Worf hasn’t had come along, it would have been you julian’
Jadzia May even have said it. It’s on screen somewhere I believe. Unless I am smudging in the relaunch books.

I think it is probably we are from the same country and Julian is British aswell and I prefer a British Accent/American Accent relationship rather than both being American Accents which is boring if you know what I mean.

Lol. I believe I have nattered on about how Bashir is one of the best realised British characters in American TV, even if he’s a posh boy stereotype. XD

I wonder what DS9 would have been like instead if either Worf did not come along or it was another of TNG cast instead i.e Data or LaForge? Data was the Operations officer on the Enterprise though so that could have been a possibility.

Worf is basically marrying a hot Curzon

I suppose you're right. She was probably whispering sweet nothings about the Kitomer Accords...

Yeah I agree, he had a good amount of character development. Everything he went through with the genetic engineering stuff and helping (or trying to help) Sarina and the stuff involved with the Changeling cure. That all helped him grow more into a complex person, which I think would have complimented Jadzia.

I did think him and Ezri were well matched, she was more of a simple lighthearted person. Funnily enough, she probably would have been better off with season 1 Bashir than season 7 Bashir. :adore:

I am not a big fan of Ezri and Julian though because I do not think appearance wise they were suited. Julian suited Jadzia more appearance wise though.

Julian should have been struck off whatever the medical register is within Starfleet before the end of season 1. Perving on nearly every significant woman in the series? yikes.

And yes, Mash was rife with things that would have doctors jailed today.

He was not a pervert, he had a good taste!
