Wow. I thought he had died years ago. 97 years is nice long life. I never much cared for People's Court that much after they got rid of Wapner. RIP Judge.

I also thought Judge Wapner was dead. Well, he had a long and well-lived life including earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in WW II.

Anybody remember his cameo in the Pilot Ep of "Sliders"?

The first thing I thought of when I heard he'd died, and probably the only People's Court case I ever watched from start to finish.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while.

Word. I remember him from when I was a kid. Watched that show and thought he was a good judge.

RIP Judge Wapner.

I only remember a few episodes. One dealt with a paralegal that Wapner didn't think much of.

Another joe came from a divorce court--and said that he didn't recognize Wapner's authority--and Wapner admitted he was powerless. There was one woman who tried to make herself sound smart--and used "eratigate" to mean argue.

I can't find the video of this on the web--but I remember it like it was yesterday.

It's proof that biting dogs don't often bark. I saw the dog lunge forward--bite Doug on the knee, then move back even before he was pulled. No growl--nothing.
