Shit I spelled Jonathan's name wrong. SHAME!

And isn't posting this a $poiler in of itself? You should Spoiler tag the image for Pete's sake.

I attached the big red spoiler tag in the thread title, that is enough according to the rules last I checked. Which admittedly was several months ago.

So they are NOT casting current Spock, mwaahhaahahahahahahahahahhhbwahahahhahhhahaaa. Well screwed if they do, screwed if they don't. They have no-one to blame but themselves for putting themselves in this situation.

I don't think having a younger Spock in flashbacks means there won't be an adult Spock in the "present". I'd be surprised if they let that information slip this early on.

They won't cast him.

[W]e realize how incredible Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto’s performances were and what [Star Trek movie director] J.J. Abrams and the original series were able to pull off with that character. Finding another actor that could even come close to what Leonard Nimoy did with the original portrayal, we’d never want to go down that road.
Not that we can take what producers say as 100% truth, but the smartest thing they can do is not touch Spock. If we want to see Spock, doing it through flashback to younger Spock is the best possible thing they can actually do.

Hmmm. I don't know what to think, to be honest.

I wonder why the article went out of its way to say this immediately before Alex Kurtzman's quote...
While they aren’t ruling it out, the executive producers made it clear in various interviews that the introduction of the Enterprise does not mean the introduction of Spock as a character on the show. Harberts told THR that they are not casting for the role and even expressed doubt that they ever could do so successfully, saying

Is it editorializing on their part or just summing up what they didn't put into words? The latter of which makes no sense. This is me more wondering about trekmovie.com than anything Alex Kurtzman said.

Spock spent an unspecified amount of time on Earth sometime between the events of The Cage and 6 years before "This Side of Paradise". It would be easy to explain his absence from the Enterprise.

Frakes could just live stream himself reading all the scripts for season 2 in their entirety if he wanted to. Do you think he'd do a straight-up read or try and mimic all the voices?
